  2. They’ve been doing it for years......”lansdown will get bored”, “Lansdown only interested in the rugby”, “crowds will drop as soon as they go on a bad run” “they’ll bottle it again” Absolute inferiority complex. They can’t name any positives about they’re own club so even when the truth is staring them in the face, make up negatives about us to feed their sad, bitter life’s. The more they say it, the more they believe it. Reality is SL is in for the long haul and JL will succeed him. He is in no way getting bored, in fact, with new training grounds for football and rugby and the arena expansion of Ashton gate, he is still fiercely ambitious. Buying and selling players for a profit and a top producing academy were a couple of the ‘pillars’ of the long term strategy several years ago....that is now coming to fruition. He can also see massive improvement on the pitch year on year.....we now have the best possible chance for promotion to premier league. Whether we make it this year remains to be seen but if we don’t, we are very much an established top ten championship team. something the bitter few can only wet-dream about
  3. I believe originally Ashton vale but the AG plans were in progress around the same time as the plan b......take note Bristol rovers!
  4. As a boy from the wood myself and now resident in north Bristol, I concur. This subject raises its head every100 pages or so and I’ll never tire of dragging this info graph out..... from the planning documents for the revamp of AG showing city season ticket holders around the Bristol area (also consider we have probably doubled the number of season ticket holders since then). There is no north/south divide.....the city is red
  5. Just leaving this here for when they next tell us what shite fans we are and yet they are loyal and true...... ironicgas First Team 44 minutes ago bluegas and craggo like this Quote Awful performance, but seeing grown men boo and heckle our own players is embarrassing. Please stay away if you can't take losing a game of football.
  6. So, on sky’s error this afternoon regarding the Rodri signing for Bristol ‘Rovers’, another absolute belter.......... Breaking news shitheads. For all the money you’ve spent on team and ground and time spent playing at a higher level you still regularly get mixed up with us by fans, national media, and even the people that run the bloody game!
  7. No, no I don’t. You suggested I should show some class.....towards what, rovers being 4th after 12 games?
  8. Who gives a flying phuk.....it’s October with 11 games gone, they have achieved nothing.....get a grip
  9. No mate, this is a thread taking the piss out of the gas.....they scrabble a few results together usually with the aid of a penalty and or opponents sent off and you expect us to praise them.....pah, no thanks. the only embarrassing thing is their dwindling crowds on such a ‘fantastic’ run
  10. The state of this plonker......I’m sure the camel herder thought exactly the same gasheadontour said: Why would any non-fan buy Rovers and spend many years and many tens of millions on a new stadium, training ground, youth system and first team when they could buy a championship club? Squiffy Because the latent potential and possible future rewards are greater for a club in our division and geographic location than for a similar outfit where there is already market saturation. There is also the opportunity to fine tune a new stadium development to maximise revenue which could be more restrictive and relatively more expensive at an established Championship club. I bet the output of a comparative spreadsheet would put us very close to the top of a list of potential high return investments in football.
  11. I bet those peas were up his nose within 30 seconds
  12. Ha.....I used to work with this bloke many moons ago
  13. So Kerry, I take it you concede that the term ‘loyal and true’ can therefore not be applied to your fanbase as they would rather watch a shambles of an England cricket performance, an England football game that started after yours concluded or stand in a muddy field watching canvas structures full of hot air (no, I don’t mean your home games)
  14. "Six goals, a red card, and a highly memorable overhead bicycle kick from Rovers striker Jonson Clarke-Harris which will be spoken about for years is certainly a good advert for the third tier of English football" Really?? A rather industrial overhead kick in a 3-3- draw against Accrington Stanley in front of 6500 fans?? Hardly going to be remembered once a long hard winter kicks in and results/attendances flounder. However, a sublime pass from none other then Matty Taylor for Korey Smith to slide in a 93rd minute winner against Man United in the quarter finals of the cup in front of 26,000 fans and millions worldwide.....now THAT will be spoken about for years!
  15. Yes, we do give some free tickets away......to local schools and sports clubs as these are the fans of the future. No point in the sags doing the same as they have no future.
  16. Conversely, Managers who sign a contract with a club should honour that commitment, not jump out at the first opportunity.......isn't that right Ian *cough* Plymouth *cough*
  17. About the same amount of time you’ve being spouting that you’re “coming for us”. guess which ones more likely
  18. So you think the performance of an ex player bothers us? If your trying to suggest he’s 5hit, then just remember the £22 million we pocketed for him would cover the cost of your whole squad, the dump you call a stadium and still have change to buy another £8million player. keep on dreaming sagass
  19. Look at the state of they mind......no wonder they’re called the pikeys.
  20.....you actually believe that, belter
  21. Dear oh dear.......they have just made their game with Oxford all ticket to the surprise of most of them apart from this belter...... Think there's a whisper of some red friends joining us to cheer on one of their loan players. This kind of deters. A little.
  22. Taxpayers money to be squandered propping up a failing private businesses development plan......even Marvin isn’t that stupid........
  23. I have to laugh with the use of the term "advanced stages with the council". Even if this takeover is happening, at this 'stage', the best you will get from the council is some warm words that they are "on-board" and maybe some pre-application discussions that would set out some basic parameters. They seem to forget that the council have never turned down any stadium applications of theirs in the past......they never happened due to the fact they were either pie in the sky and/or they never had the funding. None of that means anything to actually going through the planning process and building a stadium. For that you need money, land and planning permission......the 3 things they don't have and will have to go through the hoops to attain. As Waely has said numerous times "these things take time" and that's before you hit the inevitable bumps in the road like land ownership, local opposition groups and dare I tempt it, judicial reviews.
