Did you honestly think we’d win? Someone else described the first half today as is being like a boxer who was so outclassed they came out punching, I think that was a pretty accurate description. We certainly gave them a game for 20-25 mins. Surely you must agree that parachute payments make this league more difficult each season we’re in it?

I’d argue that 2 were preventable, and Vyner aside, the defenders mostly did ok, Fulham had too much movement and guile.

It’s not an excuse though it is a fact. Sometimes you play teams that are streets ahead of you, this was one of them. Why are Fulham that far ahead, why are they able to recruit players like they have, why are they able to keep the players they have? We gave them a game for 20mins or so, which is something to build on. Fulham won’t lose too many games this season playing like that

Agreed, fed up with Vyner facing the goal and losing another header. They just had too much movement and pulled people left right and centre. Mitrovic is a clever player..

Mostly because that is the reason. We are a well run club that made a £36m loss, Fulham, Bournemouth and West Brom will get more than that as ungenerated income. There is no way that Fulham to keep hold of Mitrovic without that cash.

Agreed, an entertaining game, some good goals from both teams, but tough as a city fan.

I get that, for 20 mins we more than competed, what you can’t compete with is the quality of player they’ve got, and class and form takes precedence here.

And that’s the frightening thing…though being a yo yo Prem team is good for the balance sheet

For as strong al Fulham look up top, they’re not that great defensively, I can see us scoring at least one, it’s just how many more we concede in return.

Absolutely but for a tiny bit more composure/quality we could have comfortably winning this. there are definitely positive signs here. Play like this for the rest of the season and we’ll have no problems at all

Also he looked more effective when not having to cover Vyner at full back in the 2nd half, but in agreement he’s not totally a front man, in old currency they’d describe him as an inside right…

I think half his “problem” as it were us he is prepared to get on the ball anywhere and keeps mobile hence receiving a greater quantity of passes and in positions where losing it create us problems, a prime example is that pass from Kalas

3 points closer to 50 and that’s the only goal this season as far as I’m concerned. interesting on how NP handles Towler now, 2 mistakes, 2 goals and then hooked off after 45 mins, should they have kept him playing senior football at Grimsby? Is he allowed back out on loan again, or can a player only play for 2 teams in any one season?

But Wiemann didn’t need to play it to feet, a little dink 10 yds in front of Semenyo and it gets interesting at it means the keeper has to come out as the defenders would never have caught up. Wrong decision but that’s being super critical on Wiemann today

Personally I think Wiemann was too slow on playing it forward

This brand new sexy thing of linesmen not putting their flag up until the last minute is crap. Afobe was offside but the linesman still had to wait to allow him to get on the ball before flagging. Let’s go back to simple, if there’s a ball played forward and a player is offside then it’s flag straight up.
