Not sure why you think someone who is being considerate to others is being any less brave than someone who won’t take a needle in their arm due to a microscopic possibility of side effects but each to their own. For what it’s worth, you come across as someone who is a bit scared yourself.

Who won't take a needle in their arm? I've been vaccinated, but I won't show proof that I have to watch a football match, go to a night club etc. So I don't see your point.

I guarantee 95 percent of the people on here have broken the COVID rules over the 18 months. Yet they come on here preaching. Virtue signallers!

    Wtf are you on about?

Anybody can choose to ignore the advice, but it’s just that most people can actually see the reasons for what’s going on and follow advice, even if they aren’t happy about it.

Lucky for you really, because if we all had your attitude, we’d all be ****** and you wouldn’t dtill be going about hour ‘normal’ life!

It’s pretty obvious you’re just anti-establishment and are just going to carry on doing what you want, regardless of the consequences.

Think yourself lucky you live in a country where you can get away with that, but I should ease off the sarcastic comments towards anyone who doesn’t share your views.

They are also following their own consciences and not being led by a ring through their nose by the government like you seem to be inferring.

Oh yea, the advice the people who made them wasn't adhering too.

    Good idea!

Difference of view doesn't upset, far from it.

Bizarrely, I would happily have a balanced conversation with you at the Gate sometime (and I mean chat, this isn't a guarded threat), but...

you won't be there for a while, so at least I know I will be surrounded by like minded people.

Yes with your four masks on standing 8 foot away from the person you're chatting too, making sure you are stood by the well ventilated entrance, waving your brand new covid passport around whilst telling everyone how brave you are...ha ha ?.

Where have I said I’m grateful not being locked up? You are making shit up now.

Nobody likes restrictions. I had a holiday cancelled because of Covid. It’s shit. But if I can get some / most of my life back by following new rules then I’ll do it. Your carefree, stamp your feet tantrums don’t achieve anything.

"Last year we couldn't go to a game but this year we can"

    Well lucky old little you..???????

    This is completely embarrassing.

There are non so blind as those that will not see, we are wasting our time I'm afraid.

    Exactly

Last Christmas we were under restrictions, this is really really dangerous...

Government holds a party for 50 people because they are so really really scared. Health secretary is having an affair. Cop26 have a party whilst social distancing and wearing mask for photo shoots.

What do these people have to do for you to realise?

The pandemic totally ******* sucks yes but stop having tantrums. Very OTT

No tantrums here, just shocked you so easily accept restrictions. And to a state where you are grateful to not being locked up .. I guess some people are so easily manipulated in believing anything. Good luck but please don't belittle people who have differing views. It show your weakness.

For a longer period of time than I'd be prepared to read the spurious diarrhea from yourself.

You also realise that those who annoy you by not questioning things, are equally as annoyed at self-righteous ***** like yourself.

Ha ha , if having a differing view is really upsetting you, then I'm over the moon. Keep reading the news, im sure the next variant is just around the corner..

When did anyone say they were happy with the restrictions? Being compliant is a long way from being happy.

As for the question - it is unanswerable because we still don't really know what the future looks like for Covid. What we are seeing though is an improvement in 12 months. 12 months ago you couldnt go to the game. 12 months ago we were locked down. Now we are relatively free - just gotta wear a mask and flash your app.

You speak as if you're grateful that we are "Allowed" to leave the house and not be  in lockdown. Sorry but that's funking rubbish... We should never accept it. No corrupt government should be allowed to take our freedoms away, ever!

If all those lockdowns worked, why is there still restrictions placed on us.

That's why I asked how long will people tolerate it.

  9. 3 minutes ago, Eddie Hitler said:

No, that was a balanced post.

And I speak as someone who didn't clap for the NHS and refuses to form part of a huge experimental vaccine trial.

The media, encouraged by the government, is very keen to make this a binary "us and them" issue so that you either believe everything they say or nothing they say and, having done this, seek to marginalise the latter group.

The truth is somewhere in between; it is like a bad flu and it probably would have been a good idea to take similar sensible precautions in bad 'flu years.

Ballanced approach, He said people with differing views are batshit crazy.. Course it is ????

There has been an Epsilon variant.  And an Eta, Iota, Kappa, Lambda, Mu and Zeta. The reason they're not well known is because they are all classed as VBM's (Variants being monitored), save Lambda and Mu, which are or have been VOI's (Variants of interest) or VUI's (Varients under investigation).  Delta and Omicron are VOC's (variants of concern), hence the increase in measures to combat them.  It's really not bizarre and is very easy to find out the answers,

These people are batshit crazy, aren't they?  Them and their great reset!  *shudder*

Whilst the number is growing, it is thankfully still a tiny minority overall.  Thankfully the gross majority are doing the right and sensible thing.

No we don't.  The report is somewhere between 250,000 and 740,000 since March 2020.  Yes, the number is still staggering even at the lower end of the scale, but still important to note that these are not 250,000 actual cancer cases, but 250,000 plus cases where people didn't or weren't able to see a doctor for consultation. Again, it is very high, but it should be seen as a lesson to be learned moving forward.  The tragedy would be in those sorts of figures being repeated over the next 18 months because it would show that we've not done enough to address the problem after acknowledging that there is one.

Advice, stay in and hide behind the sofa whilst listening to the news. That will work

.. let the grown ups go out and enjoy life... Strange man...,???

We actually aren't performing that badly ATM.

I'll be going to watch the Huddersfield game and will assess then the effect on the crowd. I'm guessing it'll be minimal. Most of the fanbase who attend matches are in the age range where vaccine take-up is very high.  Christmas shopping is likely to have a much bigger issue.

The idea that we'll now see passes for pubs and restaurants is hypothetical, but if we did, for anyone who it keeps away it might encourage more elderly and worried customers to return.

In my local, a number of old boys are no longer regulars as they are worried about catching the virus in a venue where there are zero restrictions. If restrictions were to be brought in, they might return.

Just to be clear. I haven't been agitating for Covid Passes in the UK and think they'll be a pain in the arse.

But I don't think they are such a big deal I would ever consider not watching City over them.

If people are worried then I would they suggest they limit the time spent in crowded areas. For the rest of us, let us live our lives restriction free. Its pretty simple really, isn't it?

Alot of people are very happy that the government controls every aspect of their lives, that's fair enough.

But I'm not and I won't.  Thankfully there are lots of people who are already and starting to think this way.

How would I know that French infection, hospitalisation and death rates are lower than the UK? The stats are there for you to see.

Can you explain why showing a pass to go to a restaurant will lose someone their relationship - or life???

They are more likely to lose both if they catch Covid. Which this measure is aimed at making less likely.

Just a reminder, a minimum 5,250,000 people have lost their lives from this virus.

No business is going to go bust or no one is going to die because we have to download a simple app and potentially show it at a football match. What a ridiculous tantrum over something so uncomplicated.

For a start wait and see how many people will buy a half season ticket, pretty sure it will be down,  But you will put this down to "performing badly on the pitch"

If there's not a push back then this will spread to pubs and restaurants which will result in job losses. Why because they will have to pay staff to enforce this. And lots won't bother going out.

Maybe you should ask yourself how high French infections (which are marginally below the UK) would be without this measure?

Lower death rates and hospitalisation rates in France suggest that pushing people to get vaccinated is achieving goals the French authorities want to meet.

How would you know? Answer-You don't!

How many people have sadly lost their business, lives, relationships due to restrictions? Don't these lives matter then? Clearly not in your eyes. Sad!

No misinformation in my post. I suggest you read this and follow the links:

    https://theconversation.com/no-vaccinated-people-are-not-just-as-infectious-as-unvaccinated-people-if-they-get-covid-171302

There is a reason they've imposed these passes They aren't just for fun and no one is making money out of them. (They've already done that! Whether the system is used or not is irrelevant to the developers).  The scientific consensus is that restricting unvaccinated and/or untested people from large events will slow the spread. I'm happy to accept expert opinion, rather than that of non-experts.

How's it working in France captain quote?

Do you understand the word prudence?

Wear a mask now, be a bit careful now in case omicron is worse, or just glibly carry on with fingers crossed ?

I get you are frustrated, as am i, and the events of the last 24 hours has absolutely disgusted everybody but dont lose your mind.

People saw this a 18 months ago, you constantly belittled them.

And a mask won't stop a risk of catching it, it's just to show that the government are doing something, same as covid passports.

Well, there are still a lot of unknown questions about Omicron. If vaccine efficacy drops then we would be in the shit......but that is an if.

Also we are not into Lockdown. Its wear a bit of cloth on your face and show off you are jabbed. You are a bit hysterical tbh

There we have it,the mighty "if". We should never have any restrictions on an "if", Never!

It seems to be programmed in people's brain that they need protecting from an "if"

In the mean time lives will be destroyed on an "if"

Lockdowns were for one reason, and one reason only:

They were to stop the collapse of the health system, by flattening the curve of infection.

The NHS did not collapse, so they did work. If you are referring to the collateral damage lockdowns created, then thats another debate.

I know Johnson has given you the green light to validate your world of crazy, but lets not start making shit up

    Very strange person you are.

It was so terrifying that they had a funking party. For Christ sake they are destroying lives with these restrictions and the virus will still spread.

This is rubbish and let me guess you saw this on GMB or the Lorraine show. The true number is around 36%, Ofcom has received over 2000 complaints since this lie.

Quick question, how many years are you prepared to tolerate restrictions on our lives?

  20. This is the  main reason I didn't renew my season ticket, lots of us so called "Conspiracy theorists" saw this coming and we're laughed at. What I Don't understand is that lots of people are welcoming this in on the basis that the Omnincron "might" " maybe" "if" it's more deadly than the previous variant. Since when have we had restrictions on us on a  "maybe" .

If the government said you can only go to the football if you stick a carrot up your ass, pretty sure most of you will do it..Sad really.

If you can't see it now, especially after last year's Government Christmas parties then quite frankly you never will..

  21. Decided not to renew my season ticket this year, first time in 13 years. And now I'm on the outside looking in I really don't miss it, even if City were doing well I'm not sure I would still renew.

No where to park, £5 per pint in pre poured  plastic glasses and utter rubbish being played on the pitch. And we are still supposed to be grateful for fantastic facilities and how great the Lansdown family have been?

I was always a great defender of the Lansdowns but I was told once you stand back and take a look, you will see them in a different light.

I started a thread the other week to ask how many other teams had been promoted within the Lansdowns tenure. And I was not surprised to see the amount of other football clubs around the same size which had made it to the Premiership promise land, some of which are still there.

So the big question is how can a massively successful businessman, be so unsuccessful in football. Or is success measured on the profitability on the construction project surrounding the football club?

I guess we will find out eventually!
