In football process generally means building a squad with the right type of player to fit into the managers style of play. Clearly if the academy plays using the same style then it easier for the graduate to make the step up.

A process means the same in any industry - simply baking a cake is a process.

And then selling the cakes to Bournemouth? 😉

I love this interview.  I love the interviewer so committed to his club, and with so much knowledge about Sokes time with them. I love the fact when Stokesy was asked about his move, he shifted it back to loving his time at Aldershot.   He seems like a genuine lad and I hope it works out for him with us.

Don't that stand (yes, stand) look ******* amazing too!

Good ground. Went there a few times when I lived nearby. Watched a few Chelsea reserves games there too and saw a lot of talent

So, what are we bothering for then?

    Leicester City.

Premier League champions and FA Cup winners from nowhere. And they're about the same size as us. As Gilbert (Fridge) used to say

    "You's can always dream "

  4. Atmosphere. Location and surroundings. Tradition. Its all about the feel of the ground and surrounding area for me. I love Villa Park. Been there with City a lot and also as a neutral. Big stands and atmosphere.

White Hart Lane was fabulous (Soft spot for Spurs). The old shelf along the side of the ground which used to bounce.

As for smaller grounds, I like old grounds. Burnley, in amongst the terraced houses and Bradford

What a night that was. One of the best away games I’ve been too. I think we sung for the entirety of the second half

It was. Up there with my favourite away games. The old wooden stand rocked that night. And the performance was special

  6. When I started going regularly to home games I was 7 years old in 1968. I used to stand at the back of the old enclosure against the wall and stand on an old wooden box with my uncle. My grandad used to sit in the front row of the old stand right above us. Always worried his false teeth were going to come flying over the wall as he was ranting so much!

When I was about 12 I was allowed to go into the East End on my own. Magical

  7. Dickie came into the City side a few years after I started watching. He had a prodigious leap on him for his size and was a decent footballer unlike some of the 'Stopper' centre halves in those days.

Geoff Merrick came though in exactly the same playing style and could also jump a lot higher than his height suggested.

The Collier/Merrick centre half pairing was the foundation of our promotion winning side along with big Dave Rodgers as a more than suitable replacement.

    RIP Dickie 🙏

Regardless of managers and the politics of the football club. I can’t understand or believe any genuine City fan would want us too lose.

    Toulouse?

    Let it go.

To a certain degree, I agree. Let it go. Manning’s here for the next 6-8 months at least. Accept it. It might taste nasty but it's real. And we're winning again. Pop back again in October if we're struggling.

Handling players like that in public, especially after just giving them a bit of game time, doesn't seem like the best approach. And comparing it to how Fergie used to handle things, it definitely feels off.

    Thank you

Leaving the forum because of criticism is a snowflake attitude Harvey - a bit like cutting on your nose off to spite your face.

I suggest that you ‘man up’.

    Manning ups not an issue.

    Suffering fools? Now that's different

It happens of pretty much every thread Johnny. Threads rarely stay on topic. As you’re a new poster I’m sure you’ll get used to it eventually

I never get used to it. My opinion is my opinion. If somebody doesn't agree I encourage constructive argument. Not just someone saying I'm wrong with baseless grounds.

I've left this forum alone for long periods in the past because every thread seems to deteriorate into abuse and irrelevance. It's disappointing but then again it's symptomatic of people's inability nowadays to accept that someone else might not agree with them.

Arteta was Peps number two for a few seasons and he’d have know exactly how City would set up and try to play.

The game a draw written all over it and I regret not putting a few quid on Liverpool to win and Arsenal to draw.

Not sure what odds the double would have been but it being Easter Sunday I thought the bookies would be shut.

Man City 2/1 with some bookies to win the league now. That looks tempting

Quite clearly not ‘ripping him a new one’.  You missed out referencing Grealish’s reaction.  He was listening intently to what Pep was saying and nodding in agreement! Pep has these kind of conversations at the end of every game, with his own players and sometimes with the opposition as well.

Fergie would have put his arm around him on the pitch and painted the dressing room walls with him when they got inside.

I couldn't see what Grealish did that wrong but then again I'm not a world class manager!
