  1. Dickie came into the City side a few years after I started watching. He had a prodigious leap on him for his size and was a decent footballer unlike some of the 'Stopper' centre halves in those days.

Geoff Merrick came though in exactly the same playing style and could also jump a lot higher than his height suggested.

The Collier/Merrick centre half pairing was the foundation of our promotion winning side along with big Dave Rodgers as a more than suitable replacement.

    RIP Dickie 🙏

Regardless of managers and the politics of the football club. I can’t understand or believe any genuine City fan would want us too lose.

    Toulouse?

To a certain degree, I agree. Let it go. Manning’s here for the next 6-8 months at least. Accept it. It might taste nasty but it's real. And we're winning again. Pop back again in October if we're struggling.

Handling players like that in public, especially after just giving them a bit of game time, doesn't seem like the best approach. And comparing it to how Fergie used to handle things, it definitely feels off.

    Thank you

Leaving the forum because of criticism is a snowflake attitude Harvey - a bit like cutting on your nose off to spite your face.

I suggest that you ‘man up’.

    Manning ups not an issue.

    Suffering fools? Now that's different

It happens of pretty much every thread Johnny. Threads rarely stay on topic. As you’re a new poster I’m sure you’ll get used to it eventually

I never get used to it. My opinion is my opinion. If somebody doesn't agree I encourage constructive argument. Not just someone saying I'm wrong with baseless grounds.

I've left this forum alone for long periods in the past because every thread seems to deteriorate into abuse and irrelevance. It's disappointing but then again it's symptomatic of people's inability nowadays to accept that someone else might not agree with them.

Arteta was Peps number two for a few seasons and he’d have know exactly how City would set up and try to play.

The game a draw written all over it and I regret not putting a few quid on Liverpool to win and Arsenal to draw.

Not sure what odds the double would have been but it being Easter Sunday I thought the bookies would be shut.

Man City 2/1 with some bookies to win the league now. That looks tempting

Quite clearly not ‘ripping him a new one’.  You missed out referencing Grealish’s reaction.  He was listening intently to what Pep was saying and nodding in agreement! Pep has these kind of conversations at the end of every game, with his own players and sometimes with the opposition as well.

Fergie would have put his arm around him on the pitch and painted the dressing room walls with him when they got inside.

I couldn't see what Grealish did that wrong but then again I'm not a world class manager!

Pep is untouchable. He’s the best manager in Europe, pretty much every top European club would want him. He’s a serial winner and that showed when he roasted Grealish in public. He was clearly pissed off with JG.

I’m not a fan of either Manchester club and really wanted the Gunners to nick a 1-0 win but earning a point is second prize I guess.

I'm not questioning Peps record. That is untouchable. I'm just saying I think he was out of order singling out Jack in public. There were just as many players who underperformed yesterday than played well.

On a personal aside I can't stand Arteta. I'd rather anyone won the league than Arsenal

  10. They were well off the pace yesterday. KdB has looked half fit for a while Haaland was out for a long time and not been firing on all cylinders.

I think Peps loyalty to certain players might cost him this season.

As for Arsenal, I've a massive soft spot for Spurs so I might not comment but I think Liverpool have the easiest run in.

  11. Gives Grealish half an hour yesterday then rips him a new one on the pitch after the game and in front of all and sundry.

I suppose it comes with thinking your untouchable as a manager but I thought it was wrong. Fergie would never have done it.

And I thought Doku was even worse than Grealish. Couldn't shoot to save his life and didn't create anything.

Did we deserve to win? With Leicesters numerous clear cut chances that they missed?

We do have consistency. We can consistenly put in decent performances against the better teams but then also consistently put in poor performances against the not so good teams.

We looked to have two penalties that should have been given

I think we all deserve to have a little fun; perhaps at the negative **** who seem to think the only point of this forum is criticize my/our club we support. We could start a new threat naming & shaming those who find think it's hilarious to be smug & highly critical of our management and all good things BCFC

Lets start naming Silvio, BCFC 31, Cloudy, Uno, Ivan - all these people who will NOT read this post because it will make them chew so much humble pie they will hate waking up tomorrow to realize what total chumps they've made themselves look, that we did beat a Prem club with a bench today worth £95m, that Liam has yet again shown the football world he is smart and can get an average team to beat the best. I loved today even more knowing those we can name will have a horrible day; lets hope they also have a horrible day on Monday when they'll be unable to roll out their pre-written and predictable complaints about all those guys who do so much to help BCFC. I think a few of them will be man enough to own up and say we were again a good team today, all playing for the shirt, in front of a sell-out crowd at our great stadium and where Bristol Sport did absolutely nothing wrong.

Oh, and by the way anyone who enjoyed today and posts positively may be told by the neggies that they work for B.Sport - hilarious

I enjoyed today and I've been vocal against Manning recently but that's because I was firmly in the pro Pearson camp. The team stepped up to the plate today. I might argue that Leicester weren't at their best but we had a game plan and that's credit to the manager.

I've accepted for a while that Manning’s going nowhere until at least October next season. He needs a transfer window, a preseason and time to set his ideas and after today he's going to get that.

I'm happy to be proven wrong because I love my football club. What I don't want is another streaky Lee. One good result doesn't paper over QPR and Sheff Wed's. That's where we need to improve.

Ok  that’s  one club . At least they have a history of achievement

So do Pompey. Premier League and an FA Cup Final recently, ish. But are they bigger than us? Restricted home capacity and competition from Saints locally.

Bolton have suffered from overspending when they were overachieving under Big Sam. Another in the shadow of Manchester.

Wigan are ex Premier League and won the FA Cup.

What makes us a bigger club than any of these? I'd say that potentially were bigger than all of them.

    Just potentially though

Another three points at Home Park will virtually guarantee that Manning will be City's manager next campaign.

I think that after the Swansea result we weren't in serious danger from relegation. Sides lower in the table were playing each other so we were relatively safe.

I think it needed an embarrassing score to get rid of him and after today's showing I don't think that's going to happen.

The team played well and played for him today. Hopefully, the inconsistencies will not return as players come back from injury. I know we've had 'turning points' before but today felt more like a big plus.
