  1. We’re very good at making inconsequential passes. As soon as we move the ball into a dangerous area, we crumble.
  2. Christ this is a poor watch. Williams having a stinker.
  3. Off to Bournemouth next summer then, good on him.
  4. We are three players shy of top 6 material for me: 1) Quality striker (admittedly hard to come by). 2) Senior goalkeeper to challenge MOL 3) Either a disruptive midfield sentinel (e.g. Marvin Elliott) or a creative playmaker (e.g. Paul Hartley - but younger!)
  5. I’m in agreement with your view on this. As I’ve alluded to in other threads as well, if we aren’t going to target promotion (I.e. the investment isn’t forthcoming to create a squad that is good enough), then I want us to do everything we can to make AG a fortress. Even after some time to reflect I still feel our home form simply isn’t good enough regardless of our overall aims/ambitions in this division.
  6. Totally agree (I am out of ‘reactions’ for today).
  7. Impossible. The Greens don’t like anything that large groups of people derive enjoyment from!
  8. Tbf, I did think to myself as I finally got hold of a pint and a pasty just as the 2nd half kicked off that if Stoke scored I’d stay in the concourse for the remainder of the game. Kinda wish I did now.
  9. It was terrible. Also, can anyone explain what happened in the second half with Max? Looked from the south stand like he came close to conceding a penalty from a back pass? Difficult to tell from S19…
  10. Bad Savage surely a candidate for when football becomes panto.
  11. Ropey moment with the ball at his feet 2nd half sticks out. Attempted pass rebounds off their player. Fortunately it goes safe, but too casual for my liking. I struggle to see confidence in MOL presently. When he first came into the team, to replace DB, he looked very confident. Now it seems like he is almost he shrinking into his goal. Those who have said we needed an older Maenpaa-type keeper to come in and challenge were spot on for me.
  12. As a ST holder, who struggles to make it to away games, the biggest frustration is that under NP we have still not been able to make AG a fortress. To those who get the pleasure of watching us win on the road I salute you. But FFS I am pissed off that we can’t make more of our games at AG.
  13. This is the key. For all of our good work, we let ourselves down badly with weak defending and bad game management. It’s frustrating, but I suppose it is the city way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
  14. I’m not sure the officials lost us the game today though, it was our own ineptitude for me.
  15. Something I never thought I’d say 3 years ago - we missed Vyner today!
  16. This. Sorry but it is absolutely criminal we have lost this game. I need to look at the stats a bit more closely. But initial reflections on the game are that that Stoke were presented with 3 good chances, and scored all 3. Unacceptable is the word.
  17. Sorry Dave, I rate your contributions to the forum and FBC pod but presser… I just can’t do it. Makes me cringe!
  18. Does anyone else despise the term “presser”?
  19. Hmm, I think you’re being a little harsh on me here and sensationalising what I said a little. Admittedly I worded myself poorly. We will never be party to Bristol Sport’s recruitment processes, and so I can only take it at face value that the incumbent store manager is the individual best qualified for the role. However it is also fair to say that the shop itself has come under criticism in recent years and so you wonder how much of this can be influenced by the manager. For example, the layout and distribution of items/lines. The lack of appropriate merchandise, such as bobble hats and festive jumpers, relative to the time of year also springs to mind. Rightly or wrongly, I was perhaps pining (rather nostalgically) for the days of Beryl Fudge’s shop, where you knew that it was run by someone genuinely invested in the club and the fans. Though, as per my original post, I acknowledge many of these decisions may be made at a higher level than the store manager (JL??) so it may not be her responsibility directly. This is however a forum, and an area for debate.
  20. Again, I think I must be in a minority of one here as I think the stitched “splat” robin really works on the yellow shirt. It makes it look more like a training shirt, which I guess I quite like in a weird sort of way! I do see how it is not to everyone’s liking however, and I will concede that some of the actual training wear in the shop with the extra large “splat” emblazoned across the chest is just pure shite. On the subject of the shop, I think I crossed paths with either the store manager or supervisor today. A lady from “Southern Ireland” as she put it. Now, this may be me being picky but I can’t help but feel the store might be a bit better if there was an actual Bristol-born city fan at the helm. Though again, I acknowledge that many of the decisions around kit are made at the exec/commercial level.
  21. Bought the yellow third kit from the shop today. I actually really like it, even if I’m in a minority of one. For once, the shop also had reasonable stock of everything! Still don’t think the yellow shirt (or any replica shirt) should be priced at £50 but it is what it is. I would normally shop around the second hand scene, but the price of vintage/pre-owned city shirts is getting silly.
  22. You are so spot on it hurts. That POF vs Brighton is still burned into my memory. How our clubs have travelled very different paths since then often irks me.
