  1. Positives were that we did (in spells) look a threat on the counter attack. New signings look OK and for the most part seemed to gel, if not looking stellar. Negatives for me were a general naivety in our mentality after scoring. Similar to last season, we shrank back into ourselves and invited pressure. Then followed frankly comical mistakes, such as players colliding with each other, clearances being hacked over shoulders without checking their surroundings, a multitude of underhit passes, and so on and so on.
  2. I bought one, it’s pretty good and with a few improvements could be very decent. I appreciate as a fan-led production, it’s difficult to get access to the club and the current playing side. Naturally, a lot of the content in the programme appealed to those of us who pine for nostalgia, but there wasn’t loads in there about the current side (though the features on Preston were well written and informative). Additionally, it would be very challenging to achieve but for me it isn’t a programme unless it starts with a column from the manager and the chairman.
  3. Okay, may be having a moan over a minor thing but seriously whoever is managing stock at the ground needs a fat steel toe-capped boot up their backside. Kiosks in the south stand running out of pies and pasties at half time! Wtf!! Though we then did have a fairly tasty burger from the van by the thatchers bar, at £22 for 2 burgers we won’t be buying there often.
  4. So we have two season tickets, each with £150 points. If we each order a £5 club shop voucher, can they both be used on the same transaction? £40 for a shirt is doable, but £50 is too much.
  5. You’re spot on. Irony being that naff looking trainers are somehow back in fashion now. Answers on a postcard for that one.
  6. 2034 would be the 125th anniversary, so that could work. Not sure of any historical significance leading to a blue away kit this year… but maybe I’ve missed something.
  7. I wonder if that will slow service down for a few weeks. The staff didn’t seem to care much with the old cards. You could’ve just waved a red piece of paper in front of them and got some form of discount.
  8. From being involved with a few different groups who follow the Bears, there will be a similar (if not larger) percentage of supporters requesting a card to attend the rugby.
  9. I am fairly sure it was a poor/tatty quality programme due to us playing Cardiff twice in quick succession. Seem to have visions of many being turned into paper airplanes. Can’t have been a full 30-odd page one to my mind. Going back to my original point, best for those volunteers who are making this fan-led programme to avoid producing something akin to that as you can guarantee it’ll be chucked. At least if it’s something produced to a quality standard (and in limited numbers) people might think twice about lobbing it or littering with them.
  10. People forget that we’ve had so called “big names” supply us in the past. Puma under GJ - generally quite middle of the road bland kits. Adidas under DMc - catalogue template rubbish and never any stock. For me, some of the best kits we have had in recent times were the “in-house” Bristol Sport ones. Wouldn’t be against us going back to this sort of arrangement tbh. People having a moan because they/their kid doesn’t want to be seen in an O’Neills kit/tracksuit. Can’t get any street cred unless you’re in the latest overpriced releases from JD sports? Jesus wept, talk about first world problems.
  11. Fine with a blue away kit. The FA cup final kit was blue, though arguably the ideal time to launch a blue away kit would’ve been the 100th anniversary of our one and only final… but that would’ve been back in either 08/09 or 09/10 season so we’ve well and truly missed the boat on that one. Worth also mentioning the club ran a blue away kit as an April fool’s joke in recent times! https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/bristol-city-reveal-brave-new-2707162
  12. Looks promising, I’ll buy one see what it’s like. Certainly is better to produce something which has some collectible value, rather than a tatty leaflet which would likely be thrown in the bin or worse at the players! Probably better for the environment also to produce lower quantity of a quality product over high volume of a poor product. Speaking of which, does anyone remember that Cardiff game where they gave out a free “programme”? It was utter crap, basically a leaflet. Plus we got absolutely pumped. No wonder so many ended up on the pitch.
  13. Running a football club is a lot like making love to a beautiful woman
  14. I wholeheartedly agree. Now they often have two summarisers per game plus the commentator. Utter tosh.
  15. Good career, but been boring to listen to for about 10 years. Commentators - please just commentate on the game and occasionally drop in a bit of useful trivia. I don’t want to know your opinion on each individual player’s form/career. Leave that to the pundits.
  16. I can’t speak for Norn Iron but their justification of support for O’Neills has been sound from what I’ve read previously. O’Neills GAA range is of fine quality, no better or worse than any other sports wear. Granted the initial kits they produced for us seem to have been a bit rushed on quality control, but the revised 3rd kit looks to have sorted that. This entire thread has reeked of kit fashion snobbery imo.
  17. Max needs someone to push him for that number one jersey.
