Getting Bored Of City

dezgimed

Recommended Posts

I've actually felt really quite rejuvenated since the re-opening of Ye Olde East Ende. Far less inhibitting environment, can move around an shout without being told off by some miserable git - it's great!

Used to feel like a bloody kid sat round my Grandmother's dining room table on best behaviour, bored stiff in the other stands.

The on-pitch stuff comes and goes beyond your control, rough with the smooth etc. Think some people take it too bloody seriously at times.

Let's not forget, Bcfc isn't just a team. It's a way of life. :englandsmile4wf:

This season and parts of last to an extent have just taken it out of me.

Not playing our best players (clearly), boring, uninspiring dull football, playing for the 1-0 win, starting games poorly and then chasing a draw...

It just seems to have lost its appeal.

Anyone else wish we just went for it?

I am sick to death of going 1-0/2-0 down and then bringing on the good players to chase the game, just start them.

I am thoroughly loooking forward to the next game.

My advice to you is stop going and if enough of you vote with your feet the effect will be like Kew out Osman out sort it out all over again and you will get whatver it is you are looking for or more likely something a lot worse than BCFC circa Johnson.

I wouldn't say bored but I think the Wolves and Sheff Utd were pretty obvious to spot as our squad just isn't up to it. I guess it is kind of depressing when you know you will lose a game. When I had someone ring me at half-time to tell me it was 1-0, I just said I await the 2nd Sheffield goal then...:(

Playing for the 1-0 win? What on earth are you talking about? There is no merit in anything you've said, but that particular statement is complete shite. Therefore if you have no faith in the team and can't see that we are having an 'after the Lord Mayor's show' moment and that we will be back to our best very soon, then quite frankly i'd hate to think you should waste another minute or penny 'supporting' Bristol City.

Cheerio.

I'm bored of the quality of football we are playing.

Mostly hoofball with some occasional passing. It's just not entertaining at all.

If this season is going to be harder, which it seems inevitable it will be, then surely we could at least try to play lively football.

However I susupect we will continue to ping that football up the park.

I read this last night and thought to myself I should have a good night sleep before throwing in my 2ps worth. From now on you can please reframe from calling me someone who likes to overreact as this is a prime example of pot, kettle and black!

Now from reading the above it looks like your in it just for the glory, which I hope you aren't as I know deep down inside you are a true supporter.

But, I'm torn in two halves. Are you really only in in it for the glory? Or are you just passionate? And spouting out a complete piece of tosh that you would of expected me to of written (oh how the tables have turned). So I'm going to give you 2 answers to your thread.

One, hoping its the passion and frustration doing the talking. And 2, if its really your opinion this morning.

1) You've got to put things into perspective, we are mid table after 10 games, disaster? No. Worrying? Not really. I take it you were at the game vs Doncaster and Plymouth? I would hardly call them boring, uninspiring, and dull. Winning 4-1 dull? Erm...... Coming back from 2-0 down uninspiring? I really don't think so.

If you finding this dull and uninspiring then its simple, don't go, but it would be a shame as you do seem to have a lot of interest in Bristol City.

Even since my first game, its been in my blood. I remember the first moment walking out into the stadium in the Ateyo and hearing that boot on ball sound, that was it. Rain, hail, snow, shine, long, far, near and wide. Bristol City will alway be in my blood. I feel this is the same for most of the people on this forum, and it will continue until my last breath of life on this planet. These are the things you need to think about if last night was just a rage of passion.

2) If you still think this after having 40 winks, then I really suggest you watch Manchester Utd, Chelsea, or buy yourself a brand new Manchester City shirt with Robinho on it. For the reasons in the reason 1 section it should be in your blood. If not, then you might aswell not bother coming again and just turn up at Wembley with you big hat bought by a street side market trader.

Have a think Dez, because football is in your blood as much as the rest of us, and these are the times your club needs you the most.

If you wanna jump ship, cheerio and don't come back, we don't need you.

It's funny but I always thought that you stuck with your team for life. I have seen City bottom of the old 4th Division and watched them claw their way back up, seen them play the likes of Liverpool, Man Utd and Arsenal in what is now the Premier League and guess what I AM STILL HERE. We as football fans can become very fickle when our team is not doing as well as we think they should and the simple answer is if you don't like what you are watching then DON'T GO. We would all love to support a team that is top of the League every year but unfortunately you will have to move to Manchester !! If you sing City til I die then the hint is there. CITY TIL I DIE whether we we are bottom of the league or top. :disapointed2se:

Ha, some funny responses to this.

Firstly, I cant see to find in my original post where I said I wasnt going anymore, and want to win the League and anything less isnt sufficient. When I say go for it, I mean in games. Too often we're a goal up and then the players just sit back.

I don't need preaching at about how I should support Man Utd or Chelsea. Whether I like it or not I'll be watching till I'm dead prob, because I'm addicted to it. I could not give a crap what League we are in, I found it more exciting in L1 years back, with some better quality of football too.

I just don't find this season exciting, can anyone honestly say they didnt expect a defeat yesterday?!

It was on the cards all day long and the worst thing, which is probably the thing that bugs me, is Johnson does little to avoid it with his team selection.

I'm sorry? So you'd prefer to be in League 1? :noexpression:

i completely agree that we should be going for it! playing our flair players and trying to win games rather than the long ball tripe so far this year

I'm bored of watching ivan not make runs and I'm bored of LJ passing it backwards but hey ho I'm not ever going to stop watching them do those things am i

No of course not Badger you fruit, but at least back then we went to games with a bit more intent, not going to places like Sheff U quaking in our boots at the size of them.

Haha, thats what I thought you meant, but I was just making sure. You never know on here old chap.

I'm not bored of City in particular, but I do feel that I'm getting bored, ot at least disillusioned, with football in general.

I'm not exactly sure why though I think it's probably something to do with over-commercialisation and over-exposure.

The Doncaster game was the first home league match I've missed in over eleven years and to be honest I'm not sure I missed it all that much. I don't bust a gut to buy tickets for cup games any more, rarely go away and found the day at Wembley incredibly dull.

Maybe I'm just getting old.....

I'm not getting bored with watching City but I have to admit that a 400 mile round trip with primarily Route 1 football lacking any quality dished up was more than a touch disappointing. As I said in another thread I would have given Barnsley a miss because I am that disappointed with what I saw yesterday but I already have the ticket and will go in the hope that GJ will use the two week break to get us playing football again.

If you find it boring...simple...just don't go.

Atleast then we will have a crowd of believers to help the team

No we wont

We will have a crowd of 11/12000 die hard

who went most weeks in the old 3rd div

and 3/4000 who have jumped on the band waggon

Problem is its the 3/4000 who start moaning first

I disagree. There were plenty of the 650 diehards attending yesterday who were pretty p1$$ed off with the Route 1 football we played.

I`d rather have a team capable of helping themselves than 12,000 brainwashed die hards that think its sacrilege to criticise any aspect of the club.

PDG

So, are you saying that the team have to help themselves and that the crowd have no part to play in lifting the team and their confidence?
