This is exactly who we need, and I am surprised at how many people who have not heard of him.

Looking at the number of youngsters in our squad (including Maynard, haynes, Nyatanga, Fontaine etc) we should see a marked improvement in all the things we moan about, lack of movement, poor positional sense etc.

This appointment will improve a large number of problem areas at the club

VERY GOOD APPOINTMENT!

can't understand any complaints at all, I can only pressume it's from the younger generation who don't know his name right away so think he must be crap

GREAT SIGNING

Also being a key part of the u21 setup he'll be in a perfect position to talk up Bristol City to the younger players if their prem clubs

spot on donnie...im well chuffed with this appointment

How long is it since a newly appointed City manager appointed his choice of Assistant from outside the club - Danny W?

Wigley might not be the big or recognised name that some fans would have hoped, but if he's the man that Millen wanted and brings a fresh perspective as an outsider coming in, then can only be good for the club.

A very impressive appointment, you don't have a mug as the Assistant Manager of the England U21's.

You are right there.

The mugs get fast tracked to manage the senior side!

Over the moon with this appointment, hes a well respected figure in football, someone who aint got the big name like Cop out but knows his football inside out, he will be briliant helping and guiding KM.

Im sick of our kids going to waste at this club , maybe now we might have someone in the top end of City managment who gives a damn about the kids and hopefully will be able to help in this direction too.

The last thing Km needs is a massive name like Keegan taking the limelight, this is all about Keith coming of age and his choice of AM is spot on.

Well done Keith !!!

So how does Millen know Wigley? As im assuming he has appointed someone he feels he can trust.

Quote from tonights Evil Post

Millen met Wigley while studying for his UEFA coaching licence and offered him the job last Friday. The 48-year-old Geordie will continue in his England post, working closely with Under-21 manager Stuart Pearce to develop future international players.

:tumbleweed:

..... thoughts of Cop-out come to mind  ...... suddenly everybody gets offered a 12 month rolling contract?

Nah, I imagine the terms suited both party's thats why it is what it is. It doesn't show lack of commitment if that's what your thinking, on anyone's behalf imo. This way both party's have flexibility.

I don't see the point in tying down staff on long contracts, players are different becuase of the sums of money involved.
