Scunthorpe Vs City

Pitman set up by Marvs but shot miss hit.

Corner City.

Sounds like Marv just ploughed his way through their defenders by sheer brute force and determination.

"Barrelled his way through" according to the commentary.

Showing a few signs of his old form, good to hear.yes.gif

Sorry the logic of bringing in a left winger or left midfielder to tighten up at left back is somehow lost on me... unless of course Rose is superman.

I suspect a lot is lost on you.

Am i not mistaken that the left back and left midfielder have to track back together if the other team are attacking you down that flank. A class (hopefully) left midfielder will provide more support and confidence to Mac. Not saying it will solve the problem. but it will certainly help.

Surely the logic is in the fact that we would have a left midfielder providing cover / help for McAllister on the left hand side when we're defending? A concept that is totally lost on Campbell-Ryce when he plays, as he just drifts all over the pitch and usually leaves JMc having to defend against two players. If Rose, or in fact anyone played on that side and helped out defensively I think it would certainly tighten it up, at least a bit.

It won't stop Mccallister hoofing the ball and getting done for pace though will it?

If he has some options in front of him when he has the ball and support when defending so he is not left totally exposed with someone having a free run on him?

YES, it probably will help.

A 'bit' is probably the operative word. Does not solve the problem unless papering over the cracks is someone's idea of a solution.
