Useless Coppers

Some Leeds muppet started mouthing off, after I politely showed him the exit, in his haste going down the steps in the Dolman block G exit, the stupid pr1k, walked backwards into the handrail & "slipped", down the stairs, he ended up outside the mens toilet, where he was "shoed" a couple of times buy a kid no older than 14, who relieved him of his aquascutum scarf, he didn't realise until 2 coppers had him at the bottom of the stairs and out the door.

I'd probably take a guess that the next time Leeds come here (next season) these gobby pr1(ks will stay home and listen to it on radio Yorkshire.

I now understand why clubs up and down the country hate arrogant Leeds, what a bunch of gobby to55er5.

With all due respect, and I've had this conversation with my dad who too was in the "thick of it" at the time, but it's those who were around in the seventies who are responsible for the fans of the futures enjoyment and civil liberties being reduced.

A seperate argument, and not one I can be bothered to get into, because it's sometimes quite disturbing and intimidating discussing crowd behaviour with those who think acting that way is acceptable and in some way cool...

I know that's just "how it was" but god do I wish you lot got your fighting fix down the boxing gym...

jordan for one so young you speak well......from my point of view it is those who are engrained in the violence of the past that are the main protagonists now, it was an institution back then and party of the social scene believe it or not, today was one of those days when the past can be relived, and i saw many of them congretated outside bs3 still longing for the buzz of the past

i agree, jordan does post some very good post's and he seems a good lad.

on another note, fv began to become ingrained in football when the economy was bad and times were hard, it was (and for some still is) a way of venting pent up aggression against the "world". i think it may (not just after todays silly games) be becoming more and more enticing for the younger members of our support to get involved in.

Yes, even the 'wall didn't presume to take liberties this season! (well didn't notice any)

When i was involved, back in the day, thats what it was, letting off steam, kicks ,a buzz, but it was also about togetherness, stand together or fall together. We as supporters were a lot closer in those days, nearly all from the sort of back ground. Most of us didn't a penny to scratch our arses with, and football was our lives, something to look forward to all week.People who critizise must realise it was a very differnt world back then.I look around me at the ground, at any game and still see all the old faces from those days.We are amongst the most loyal of fans, just because we used to enjoy a good old rare up dosen't mean we don't love football, infact all we did was take our love for the club too far, willing to spill blood if needed.I don't expect some people to understand, but i've got no regrets what so ever, what happened, happened, and i think a few of the older posters on here[not all]feel the same way.COYR.

Guess you have to wait for the backlash now for giving a honest response. People will always look for groups to join, to feel "part" of something.

Spot ON NOTR,

Sadly we have too many of the PC brigade around these days, at the first hint of trouble they call 'foul' but they will then throw fireworks at police horses on a student protest.

agreed mate, i'm younger than 30 so i can only comment from hearsay about the "good old days" but it seemed a good laugh and the togetherness that went with it has stayed until this day and is superb if you ask me.

to be honest if you are wearing a Leeds shirt and cheering & dancing around like a lunatic in the Dolman stand when Leeds score, well... you're asking for a fight. he was thrown down the steps and then every step he went down he got smacked!!! But the riot police clearly thought he deserved it because they just stood at the bottom and watched!!! even the stewards only stepped in when he looked like he was gunna get killed!

It wasn't about the need to feel part of something as such,we were part of it,used to come down from Southmead[we always stuck together]and even put aside our differences with Knowle West, many of who became close friends, friends to this day infact. So we wern't looking to join in with any group really,we all just came together, and saw each other as family almost.I look around these days and no one seems to stand up for each other, well rightly or wrongly we did and as I say, have no regrets.

No backlash, I have said I kind of understand, I just resent it because what was "acceptable" then isn't now and it's because of that part of the 70's that I now lose out on certain things that shouldn't be restricted.

Thing that gets me is the lack of responsibility people take, no hint of an apology to the kids who have grown up with a sanitised sport, which is directly linked to "hooliganism"

Right, Yeah, I've done that, and ALL of todays students have... SLOW CLAP FOR BRAIN BOX.

and to clarify, it has NOTHING to do with the "PC brigade" or Politcal correctness at all, It has EVERYTHING to do with RIGHT AND WRONG.

But, hey, why should anyone deny you the right to smack seven shades of shit out of someone...

thats not quite true mate, if you don't get seen, you don't get caught. it's just harder to try and not be seen these days.

well, it should be true imo.

Look, Like I said, I dont want to get into this because I know where it leads, and quite frankly I don't want threats from some CSF/EDL hardnut over facebook again.

I don't like standing up for what I believe in anymore because no matter how logical and correct you are, there is always some neandrathal to threaten you.

Sat in the Williams, it did look ugly in both incidents. Can anyone discribe what actually happened in the dolman and the events as it just looked like a crowd of people wanting to smash each other?

Leeds fan (sat in Block B dolman about half way up) jumped up when Leeds scored their 1st goal!

Naturally every one told him to **** off and leave and he replied with some northern dribble.

Got lamped several times walking down the stairs then he either tripped or some one pushed him down the stairs (most entertaining).

Then at bottom of the stairs surrounded by city fans and stewards he was getting punched left, right and centre. He eventually got escorted out.

10 minutes later cue the riot police turning up looking like they're doing their job.

Highlight for me was the 2 lads running from the williams into away section and stewards didn't give a monkeys.

Jordan as much as enjoy your well thought out posts, hooliganism has been around for a lot longer than since the seventies. The term hooliigan is thought to come from the Hoolihan family from the east end of London,Millwall to be exact, who were watching the wall in the thirties. So the blame can not be laid at the doors of the 70s only, its always gone on,and no i'm not saying its right, but ones mans meat is another mans poison so to speak.

Not being funny mate, but if you go on a forum like this using your full name, you either don't express any controversial comments, or you have to expect personal threats in real life or on other boards.

EXACTLY and as long as no innocent bystanders get involved (which is quite easily done) then what is the harm.

I'm too old for it now but really miss the buzz, but I paid for my actions back then as I deserved to.

BTW Jordan, if you have been threatened in the past then that is totally wrong, everything in this life is about opinions, I used to love the buzz of football violence, you obviously don't, that still doesn't give anyone the right to abuse you.

It all opinions at the end of the day.

is being against violence and racism "controversial"?

these are the people who go on about "freedom of speech" so they can fill our ears with their conspiracies, Yet when someone argues for a bit of understanding and less prejudice, they are the ones warned to "keep their mouths closed"

for whats its worth, the Leeds fans who come into our ends and gobbed off, got what they deserved. However dozens of others while in our ends behaved themselves. Most of us have got tickets in the home supports stands, and if we gobbed off, we got slapped. THAT is a given. What shouldnt be is the substantial numbers of BOTH sets of fans in the EE who spent the whole game giving it large to each other. Why some of ya wanna spend 20 odd quid just to give it large beats me. The reason the police treat all fans like shit is people like you behaving like utter *****. I was speaking to loads of Leeds before the game and I found them, even the "muppets" decent enough a bunch.

That said the way the Leeds shit who tried to rush the Williams end was a ****** disgrace. Worst I have seen at the Gate since Hellski in the FA cup. In circumstances you cant blame the dibbles for the way they treat us. and beleive me I have NO love lost for them

Behave responsibly and you'll get treated better. As 95% of bikers do. They have as bad a rep as football fans. however they treat most of us with respect, unless of course we're dumb enough to look for trouble

if they had got in there and broke it up sooner, we wouldnt have had anything to celebrate today!

Yes indeed, that was the first home league game I'd ever seen us lose against Leeds. The only consolation was seeing the Leeds half wits in our end get pasted - well done to all the City lads that got stuck in. :D

I werent there today, but have done what the leeds fans have done been sat in with the home fans whilst City have been the away team. I done this at Milwall, Cardiff 4 times, Swansea, West Brom and a few others when couldnt get away tickets. You have to be pretty stupid though wherever you go not to expect something if you start making noises about the team you support when your in amongst their fans. This season i remained silent as we went into a 2-0 lead at cardiff. The worst one had to be at Millwall in the promotion season as they knew city were in amongst them that werent an enjoyable 90mins but stayed quiet and made myself get up and applaud their goal so werent as obvious.

I think the only time its been alright being a city fan in the home end is at Yeovil as where i was then was a fair few city in there too, ive read references of leeds doing that as well which Yeovil dont have a name for being a violent bunch of fans.

I witnessed Leeds fans of the utmost stupidity today. I was sat in Williams F block and 3 Leeds fans came in with tickets in their hands just as Leeds scored. They celebrated, found seats, and were ejected by stewards and Police just a few minutes later. £28 they must have paid and they were in the ground for just a few minutes. One of them was fighting with the stewards and Police so he'll probably be the meal ticket for some toff lawyers when he most probably gets taken to court and fined.

Some Leeds fans would think nothing of beating you to a pulp if you were to celebrate City scoring in their end at Elland Road. That's the way football is at the top clubs and always has been for the past 100 years.
