We Shall Win Tomorrow

I'm going for a 3-0 win.

I don't know why; I just feel that this is a 9 losses in a row type situation.

I believe people are so sick of what we are seeing that the crowd will get behind the players and start supporting. The players will respond. It all relies on a early lung-bursting-chase-down type moment to up the noise.

All of the above sounds contrary but it's what I feel in my waters.

3-0 to us. COYR.

(And I'm firmly in the anti-Millen camp!)

2-1 defeat.

We go ahead with 15 minutes to go, and fans and players alike are in such a state of shock at scoring at home that we can't defend thereafter and concede 2 late goals.

Posted

I've had a feeling we are going to batter a side soon. I said we would beat Hull on Monday... I still feel the same way. I'm going for a 3-1 to City.

Posted

I hope your right !!! But it all depends who scores the first goal, if Dull City score then the crowd will get on Millens back, the players will become nervous and we could be in for a battering. Hopefully we will play the right tactics tomorrow and attack with 2 up front from the start, however if we sit back and only try to avoid defeat like in Previous home games playing just Maynard up front Basso might as pull up a deckchair and read his Bible as he wont be called upon to make any saves.

i'd take a 1-0 win in the 89th min in off the arse of elliot(no favuortism for elliot cud be anyones arse!!) just to get a win at home, a goal at home, give us summat to cheer about at home and give the boys so much needed confidence for our next game to reading!!

come on u reds!!

CTID!!

Sod's Law he will play a blinder.

City to lose 1-0, Kilkenny missed Penalty, Basso penalty 1-0 Hull. I can feel it in my water :)

You see despite the fact we haven't done well recently. I think a lot of people seem to take it for granted that we are going to win this game. I still however think we're going to lose. Mclean and Fryatt will do well against our defence.

This is my point. We wil not win if it's still 0-0 at half time let alone 89 mins. We must go for it from the off. I hope that Millen, at long last, realises this. I know that the crowd will and players will.

Your water is rubbish. Do you want some of mine?

If it gets us a win... I'll try anything once

City must score tomorrow, law of averages.

The season's first home goal won't open the flood gates, but we'll get a second.

Hull will get one back, of course, so we can't enjoy the final minutes, and we'll be hanging on for grim death.

I think we'll do it though, 2-1 City, amid wild celebrations at the final whistle from the exiting crowd standing in front of the Dolman.

Cue huge GJ style uppercut from KM as he leaves the pitch. yes.gif

I wish I agreed with you, but I don't.

I think it'll be 0-0 tomorrow, but lightning will then strike twice and we'll beat Reading next week on an emotional night at Ashton Gate. Louis Carey will be in tears again.

I think we will win every Saturday but there you go. Still I am well up for a loud gate tomorrow a will be heard in block b of dolman, if you do sing along please

I'm well aware of the difference. Perhaps l should have been clearer, he's useless whatever formation we play.

In recent times, I've tried not to attack the poster. But if you believe that, then you no clue about football.

Funny I thought be was our top scorer and with out him we wouldnt of won at Leicester............. Hmmmmmm

Riaz, you can attack me all you like, l won't be offended.........but watch out for those MODS, rules is rules!

However, l sincerely believe we base our entire team around this chap and l just don't believe he justifies all the hype. I fully believe a strike force of Stead and Pitman would return more goals than a Maynard plus A N Other.

I've never confessed to knowing anything about football, but as with many things in life it's all about opinions.

If l were manager, he wouldn't be in my starting line up, nor would Skuse, James or JCR.

I suppose l could add that each of the aforementioned players have played almost every minute of the current season and we are second from bottom.

I will however bow to your superior footballing knowledge.

Maynard needs a target man like Stead up front with him to create space. JCR has been decent so far this season hasn't he?

Were 2nd bottom because our manager is also clueless. Maynard has been isolated up front on his own. He is literally being asked do all the work on his own.

He's a goalscorer NOT a target man- but he is expected to do both roles.

He's been prolific when he's been here, so I fail to see how you can not rate him?!

Posted

The main problem with Maynard in the team is, in his own mind he has handed in his notice at work, this means he doesn't want to be here, knowing he will be off soon. He's not going to risk his all in games for the team and I am amazed the clubs stance on playing him, I don't want to go there with the whole transfer bid farce.

Stead and Pitman need to be played ahead of him, they are the future of the club.

I have a feeling that we will sneak a hard fought 1 nil tomorrow! Only issue with this is it will purely paper over the cracks! As ridiculous a this sounds it maybe in our best interest to not take all 3 points! I don't want us to lose but maybe a 0 0 draw would be enough to ensure Millen is gone!

Posted

JCR has certainly seen a lot of the ball l'll grant you that, but there really isn't much end product is there? He is rather predictable, pretty on the ball, but all in all ineffective.

JRC has one problem that i can see, he doesn't get his head up, he gets the opposition flapping and losing shape but never gets his head up early enough to pick the pass, just wish someone would drum that into him, i fear it is too late now though. I do think he looks better in the centre than on the wing though.

Hey, if Millen is going to insist on playing JCR then he has to play in the middle.....but that leads to a whole different discussion.

Win for Hull; after another lacklustre performance by a load of players who can't stand playing for mr charisma

Agreed.

Despite KM and my complete lack of belief in him, for some reason I fancy a 2-0 win.

Here's hoping... :fingerscrossed:

Well, sorry about that. I got it completely wrong.

"We" didn't respond. The players didn't respond. There was no-one making the lung-bursting-chase-down moment until Pitman came on.

In fairness to me, I couldn't possibly have estimated just how bad Millen is at his job.

I assumed he would have given the Henry V speech before the game:

For he to-day that sheds his blood with me

Shall be my brother; be he ne'er so vile,

This day shall gentle his condition:

And gentlemen in Bedminster now a-bed

Shall think themselves accursed they were not here,

And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks

That fought with us upon Hull's day

We needed this speech because (Hello Keef) we haven't scored at home yet this season.

Instead he gave the David Brent speech about motivation and tactics. A speech so dire that most of the players fell asleep for the first 45minutes of the game. (Seriously, we wanted "up and at them" and yet the lacklustre was so evident...)

Sack Walsh. Sack Wiggers. Sack Naylor.

But most of all "SACK MILLEN"

Im going for a sh--, because it will be far more enjoyable than the dross i watched this afternoon.

Amen brother, Amen.

I originally posted this about Hull on Saturday. I genuinely did feel that the players would know this is getting ridiculous and would come out of the blocks at 100mph and take the battle to Hull. Well I got that well and truly wrong. But in fairness, I couldn't know just how bad Millen is at motivation.

But now "tomorrow" is Reading...I'm at a loss really. Reading have been awful on the road and they are that bad that we can overtake them if we win.

So, 1-0 to us??? But I'm not sure. The players want Millen out; the crowd want Millen out. Perhaps 0-1 would suit us all?

I'm not Millens biggest fan but how do you know the players want Millen out. After his interview yesterday, i got the feeling things are pretty calm behind the scenes.

A feeling? That's just it nobody knows anything for sure.

My "feeling"'is we have a team full of players that aren't scared enough of the consequence of not putting 100% effort in come matchday, we need some Joe Jordanesque passion and dressing room fear factor.

After all the interviews yesterday - I got the impression that they are all deluded - mind you, the players aren't going to say their true feelings

I watched them playing on Saturday. Not an ounce of effort by any of them in the first half. And against Brighton. And against Portsmouth..... And against Yeovil pre-season. And WB...ohhh you get the point.

My first game of the season tonight and despite our poor form I'm really looking forward to it. It'll be great to be at the Gate again. I just hope all of that optimism doesn't disappear as soon as we kick off. Pitman to start. 2-0 City. COYR!!

I suggest you keep your expectation quite low otherwise you're going to feel crap on the journey home.

Which is why I thought I'd stay at mum's :D

If Pitman plays a meaningful part or Maynard now has a rocket launcher poised i can certainly see us scoring one or two goals but equally i think Reading will do the same. Too close to call is this one.

A draw will be a pitiful result nonetheless but half expected.
