A lot depends on if Mr. Lansdown opens his cheque book or we have to make do with out of contract and cheap replacements for the players we release. For all his doubters, Millens hands were tied during the previous off season and he was bargain basement shopping. These mythical 4 or 5 quality additions to the squad won't come cheap ( in either fees or wages) . With the influx of cash , hopefully upper mid-table !

Millen had a huge budget, we spend more than many recently promoted sides both on fees and wages. We should be spending less, not more. We just need to do it more wisely.

In my view its impossible to predict how next season will pan out. We all hope that its significantly better than this one, maybe a top half finish and a cup run.

McInnes will be the first City manager to start next season having had the opportunity over the summer to have a huge clear out of surplus players and the option of bringing some of his own signings. Thats an envialbe position that most managers don't often experience. Everything will depend on who those players are, a good pre-season and how quickly they gel. Re-building can take several season's so its just a case of having to wait and see how successful McInnes new team will be.

6 or 7 years ago there was a thread on this forum "Do you want City in the Prem"?

Most replies posted stated they did not want unusual kick off times / days nor to pay £50+ for each game. Therefore they would be content with City being a strong Championship team with a good cup run every few years.

Then City won promotion and 12 months later made it to the play off final and so many people then changed their minds.

I expect City to finish much higher in 2012/13 and would like to see City in the Prem.

I would not however want City to be like Swindon when they were in the Prem. Live TV broadcast of a 5-0 home defeat by Liverpool etc followed by several relegations and only just getting out of the 4th..
