gazareth
Take your spell check of American. He might take you a little more seriously. FYI the Oxford English Dictionary recognizes spelling with a 'z' as correct and acknowledges that in some cases spelling with an 's' is also acceptable. Spelling only with a 'z' is not "American". Spelling only with a 'z' is not "American". The z or s debate has been split between Oxford and Cambridge for centuries. The Oxford English Dictionary always favours z, while the Cambridge English Dictionary favours s. Incidentally many American usages are older than their UK equivalents. A good example is 'fall', which predates 'autumn' by some time; and also 'gotten' which is historically correct.

It's like our Berkley (we pronounce it BArkley) but Yanks pronounce it BErkley and according to the family who live in the castle, the yanks are right !
