How Good Is The Premier League ?

Same here. I love the prem, it's one thing we have in england thats better than everyone else!

If city ever get promoted i'd be over the moon! I certainly wouldn't be wishing we were still in the championship!

As for someone saying that prem fans are plastic, your a nob, simple as that! If we went up, would that make you a plastic bcfc fan?

Prem is where its at, dont hate it! Love it! One day we'll be there, winning trophies (maybe dreaming slightly) and none of us will be saying that we're playing in a rubbish, boring, predictable league!

It's probably not rubbish or boring, but it is definitely predictable. I would rather have the Championship.

Players don't say it's the best league in the world for nothing.

The fans, the pitches, the atmosphere is second to none.

But it's not the best league, it's about 4 mini leagues in one. The Championship is a league.

Spain is a league with far more quality in it imo.

As for atmosphere's and fans, you are clearly deluded. Most European leagues put the Prem to shame on this.

The Bundesliga has been somewhat improving over the last 5 years but the standard of football is usually poor. I don't get the love-in on this forum for the football. The fans and attendances sure but the football itself...

The complete 'over?' commercialisation of the PL is probably why a lot of people here look to other leagues. It is completely the opposite around most of the world though.

I flicked through the papers on Wednesday looking for a paragraph on the mighty Bristol City overcoming a run away Watford. There was 4 pages of Premiershit coverage including details on games that hadn't yet happened. There was nothing, zilch, diddly squat on any of the Championship or FL games.

This must mean the Premiershit is ace.

One page spread in The Times! Was unexpected though, have to say.

Well I just watched the first half of the West Brom v Spurs game.

Won't bother to watch the 2nd half, absolute CARP.

That's why I watch my football on TV these days, easy to get up and walk away or change channel.

See more poor Premier League games than good ones.

It was a brilliant game. Sturridge was very impressive, also Downing had a very decent game which is incredible.

I only saw the second half and it was a decent game that Liverpool seemed to dominate for the most part. I thought Downing got himself into positions but was useless with the end product. Sturridge looked sharp and Carragher was solid. The keeper had a mare with the goal though.. I found that quite entertaining.

On the whole you can take positives from all the top leagues in Europe. You get some great end to end matches and you get some boring dross in all of them at times.

If I was a betting man I'd predict both English clubs to be knocked out of the CL in the 2nd round. If that happens having two out already (Chelski and Citeh) that really wouldn't reflect well on the EPL for this season anyway.

Yet listening to the commentators, there's never a poor game on Sky. After a drab first half we are told it was an intriguing tussle etc.

Man City vs Liverpool game was excellent. People will moan about anything in football these days.Just sit back and enjoy the quality that is on.

Some decent goals, but the quality of Football over all was poor for 2 teams who have spent billions of pounds on players.

Valencia v Barca being played at the moment, has twice as much quality.

Watched both games and totally disagree.

The Barcelona game was only good for about 10 minutes before half-time. The rest poor.

Totally agree. I think there were only 3 shots on target in the first half and one of those a dubious penalty. Also it was played for the most part at walking pace.

Normally I would say the Spanish game is far and away better technically, but not in this instance in IMO.

I know people will always disagree with personal opinions but give me a 2-2 game full of passion, good football and stunning goals any day of the week.

If I'm home I will watch every Barcelona game I can. They are a joy to watch! But for drama it has to be the PL no other league comes close!

I saw them at the Camp Nue last season against local rivals Espanyol and was frankly disappointed, not so much with the actual game ( 4-1 to Barca, Messi hatrick) but the atmosphere - there wasn't any.

Yeh I agree the atmosphere at barca and real is poor! Unless playing each other or big champions league games.

I guess it must be boring if you know you are more or less gonna win every single home game.

To put it bluntly it is the poorest it has ever been. Take the top two out and the rest would find it a strugle to get promoted from the Championship. I am convinced that we will have no teams through to the Quarter finals of the Champions League for the first time in many years. Top flight English Football is in a massive decline.

Yet the current European champions are English. Man U will always have a chance as they can score, I'm hopefully going to the Man U v Madrid game at OT. Would love to watch Ronaldo live.
