kevin nugent=drunken mess

:) I have drunk with Kev in Bradley Stoke and the showboat. Nice bloke, chatted about everything not just football. We shared round after round. Seems we had some very unprofessional players at the club, albeit very approachable and friendly.

Honestly have to say, he is the nicest city player I have met.

Strangely at the 2000 Stoke final, Helen Chamberlain followed us across London in an old big American car, having arrived and parked up whilst walking around the outside of the stadium Adrian Heath (ex Stoke/Everton) was walking towards me and in a wonderfully timed tribute to 'soccer A.M', I held my hand out to shake his hand and as he held his hand out, I retracted my hand and did the schoolboy error routine ala Tim Lovejoy, me and my pissed mates laughed he just stood staring in a bewildered way. A minute later I saw Jackie Charlton walking towards me and I thought...............................................nah Jackie is a ******* world cup winner FFS and Heath was only 5 foot nothing and Jackie still looked like a lean mean fighting machine, just said a very honourable 'hello' and he said 'alright lads enjoy your day', even pissed I was rational.

Maybe another slightly off the wall one here.....

Steve Jones. Occasionally got the train back into

London from away games with him. Decent bloke and offered to sort out taxis one time.

Bradley Orr and Marv were also going down to pfa awards after one northern game (Blackpool maybe) and donated a bottle of wine and chatted for ages. Brad was off to see Liverpool in the champions league and really understood what it's like to be a true supporter.

The Bolton final was a perfect day, huge crowd, played ever so well, was there with my late father and my son, my abiding memory will always be the Terry Cooper interview after the match when he couldn't stop crying, what a man, had some of the best times ever watching BCFC during TC's reign.

Terry Cooper was a little before my time (I'm 31) but I love that man. A couple of years back I went to the 25th anniversary dinner, and had a chat with him, told him that I appreciated the hard work he'd done picking the club up and getting it going again after the financial meltdown, he said nothing and just shook my hand. As we were leaving me and my mate said goodbye to him, he told us to keep the faith and that it's a fantastic club. I will lobby strongly for his efforts to be recognised somewhere at either AV or the redeveloped Gate, because IMHO he thoroughly deserves it.

yeh fantastic man.

great for us as a player and manager. at his peak in the early 70s the best attacking full back in britian,if not europe.

strange over the years left backs for us have been premier league!
