What a numb nuts comment. Without boring the pants of anyone just remember our country without the Windsors would lose billions in revenue not the opposite. Just the birth of the expectant 3rd in line to the throne will add close to £400 million to the economy in year one alone.

Pot, kettle etc

This government is about restructuring and not borrowing anymore Pezo, it renounces the whole Labour ethos of borrow, borrow and borrow some more, they are also slowly trying to change the benefit set up & address the ridiculous immigration problem and strain it's put on the NHS etc.

All problems caused by the war criminal and his cronies! If Labour end up at the political helm again, I'll be off.

I think you'll find the Tory government propped up by some right wing Liberals is about cuts, cuts, cuts. Squeeze the working class whilst MPs get pay rise, millionaires get tax breaks, the NHS gets privatised by stealth. Labour is far from perfect but for anyone working class (and I include any family with a combined income of under 80,000 as working class) they are by far your best bet.

All problems caused by discredited, non sensical neo liberal economic theory practiced by successive governments ever since Thatch and Reagan followed its doctrine. The main parties are just three cheeks of the same arse, to varying degrees.

You'll be quoting "the nation's credit card" nonsense next.

Yes. The number one destination for chinese visitors to the UK is Bath, because they are interested in the antiquity of the Romans. The States only has a history of 400 years or so, so its hardly surprising the yanks flock to this country. As to the bloodline of the present bunch, it is of course pretty shaky. After the restoration of Charles the second it all kicked off between the prods and the catholics, and William of Orange snatched the throne from James the second. When the childless Queen Anne died, the throne might rightfully have reverted to the catholic Stuarts (so James Stuart, 'the Old Pretender' and then Charles Stuart, 'Bonnie Prince Charlie') but in the desperation to keep a protestant monarch, the powers that be grubbed around and came up with George, the Elector of Hanover, whose connection to the throne was pretty tenuous but who was invited to be king. He knew a good opportunity when he saw one, and despite the fact that apparently he didn't like England at all, he decided to move in. The present queen is therefore directly descended from a minor German ruler, who had very little connection with this country. How that gives her the authority to 'rule' us, beats me.

Where are your parents from?

And that's relevant exactly why?

Oh Barrs Court Red is bit of a racist. Don't worry I think he's just been banned on account of another nasty thread he started about non-English people.

No doubt he'll be back with his usual round of sniping and negativity at a later date.

I find it amazing that in the 21st century people are still prepared to bow down before a monarchy. Everyone is born equal, why should I accept that a family has the right to rule over me purely down to their bloodline?

Almost as ridiculous as people killing each other over which imaginary deity is the true one.

We can send robots to Mars, split atoms, decode DNA etc yet in some respects are still firmly stuck in the middle ages.

Millions of us would love to " be off'" now, with this elitest Tory ( as someone else said, propped up by left wing Liberals's) government, who weren't popular enough to win a mandate to govern on there own ;)

Unfortunately we can't afford to go!

So, another thread was locked for becoming political, how long will this one last then?

The notion of cuts is propaganda trotted out by left wing press and the left wing BBC. Public spending is static instead of increasing 20% year on year as it did under Tony B Liar and Gordon the Moron.

We would all be 12 to 15 percent better off had the Labour morons not plundered pensions by removing tax credits on dividends to pension funds - FTSE fell by 5% as a result and your pension contributions needed to rise by 3%. Everyone loses if the stock exchange falls, not just 'the rich'.

And then they sold off half the gold reserves at cut price, pissed the money against the wall, caused a run on the pound and tied us closer to the Euro - neat.

Simple, real economics but go on believing the clap trap in your left wing chip papers.

Eject all non-British citizens (regardless of race creed colour or religion) so yes I mean Yank heads of corporations down to illegal immigrants.

That 6-8 million people alone should allow some of the full-time chavs to HAVE to get a job.

Oh, and more Police Officers actually on the streets please.

Whoever does this gets my vote.

I take it you won't be voting then.

Ever worked in Whitehall for HMG? I have.

Ever studied economics properly, I.e. not from a book or in some lame 'business studies' class? I have.

Ever worked abroad and seen what a mess this place look during the early 2000s? I have.

You don't need a newspaper, just seek out facts. The numbers don't lie.

Whoopee do, you may have a valid point point about Blair/Brown however claiming the Beeb is left wing is simply not credible.

Please feel free to give me one example.

1. Following Thatcher's death, they showed a documentary that was completely biased against her. According to the programme, everything she did was wrong.

2. Comic Relief - seven hours of left-wing comedy and social mores that could hardly be described as right wing

3. Have you watched EastEnders lately?

What I realised some time ago is people in charge take the piss. ATM we have politicians (democratically elected)

Sorry Pezo, take issue with this. There was no party with mandate to rule at the last election. After a 33% turn out where there should have been a hung parliament, they decided amongst themselves to form a government. There sould have been a re-election. If I had been a Lib Dem voter at the last election I would have been furious that my vote had anything to do with letting the Tories take power. Coallition? No, the Tories and David Cameron are in control with no mandate. That's my view.

Anyhoo.

We joined in with God Save the Queen and Rule Britannia but was there a need to change the lyrics of God Save the Queen? I don't remember "No Surrender" being in the original. I feel Rangers should have also joined in with "Engerlund, Engerlund, Engerlund!"

;)

Salisbury Red & Ashton Great, Amen my brothers amen.

I have lots of friends who work in media city for the BBC one of whom used to co-produce a prominent news programme when living in London, working at BBC HQ, they most definitely have a labour slant, I'd like to say more about some financial goings on she told me about but I fear it may cause the forum some problems.

1. You obviously have a problem with informed journalism.

2. Don't recall Mark Thomas doing Comic Relief

3. No

I think you forgot to mention broadcasting the 'socialist' opening Olympic ceremony by the way.

I bet you're one of those that moan about Ferguson, who couldn't be bothered to get off ones backside and vote, if you don't use a right to vote you have no right to moan about the outcome surely!

You do people who worked dam hard to ensure everyone had the right to vote a disservice, shame on you.
