Dewani Trial

You have to ask yourselves why a trio of murderous robbers would release unharmed a witness who could identify them. The taxi driver, who was clearly colluding with the gunmen, was known to the hotel staff, so why not just eliminate both tourists?

There is only one reason they might have kept Anni: rape. Yet neither this or sexual assault occurred.

I agree but find it a little bizzare that he turned up in SA and asked his cabbie if he knew anyone who could whack his missus?! And the answer was "yes"! Is SA really that much of a ****** up country?! Actually...

A messed up county and a messed up man by the looks of it. How did this beautiful young woman get caught up with him, what a waste.

He is said to be suffering from post traumatic stress, yup you've been caught mate. It seems with his lifestyle choices, other men and prostitutes, he had little regard for her anyway. I don't know he he had her killed, but it looks likely. All I know is he should never have been with her anyway.

For a successful business man, his approach to getting his pounds exchanged and arranging for a helicopter flight are questionable to say the least.

Takes a private jet to Paris to propose, spends the honeymoon at the Kruger national park, then onto a 5 star hotel. Does seem odd that someone like that would start chucking cash about to a local taxi driver.

Tabloids playing up the bisexual statement today, not sure what bearing it has

It was the major headline yesterday morning, presumed that bisexual men can't possibly commit or plan a murder and that was the start, and possibly end, of his defence case

Very odd

I think the angle they are playing is that he was forced in to marrage and is actually gay not bi-sexual and didn't want to be married so "arranged" for his wife to be murdered so he can carry on his gay lifestyle,

I don't know about this case to be honest and will be intrested in the outcome, something that didn't sit right with me is his mental state that suddenly came on after he left SA,

Mrs Robbo works in a local pharmacy and told me as soon as the Dewani murder story reached the media that he was gay. It's apparently common knowledge in pharmacological circles.

Mr Dewani Sr. owns a chain of pharmacies across Bristol and that's where the family wealth originates.

No doubt that the marriage was arranged as is normal in Indian culture and Dewani Jr. almost certainly didn't want it and my suspicions are that he's guilty.

That said so was Pistorious and he got off.

He's not a successful businessman though, his Dad is.

I stand corrected on that.

My point being that someone of his affluence would have no need to go bargain hunting with dodgy local taxi drivers to exchange cash or arrange pleasure trips. Never been to SA, but from what i understand it would not be in your interests to carry wads of cash around on you whist touring a local township.

you are also told to use liecensed taxis only and to not stop at traffic lights after dark

I think he panicked when suddenly the reality of being in a marriage he didn't want dawned on him. Maybe pressure from the families, both wealthy aren't they, had his situation spiralling out of control? I've read he was undergoing hormone treatment so he could become a father, maybe he just couldn't face the prospect and the responsibilities it involves.

It was common knowledge around his family's other businesses as well.

I had the unpleasant experience of working in close proximity to him last summer (2013).

I've posted a bit on Ziderheads a while back if any of you are members over there. Is family are well of and know how to play the system.

In what ways was the experience unpleasant?  Seroius question and not the male escort thing.

I watched the BBC documentary a while back and like others on here, don't know what to make of it all.  I guess that until proven otherwise, the man is innocent.

You have to realise this person has gotten what he's wanted all his life, he comes from a wealthy family where money has been no object.

Being remanded at Fromeside (a secure mental health wing at Blackberry Hill hospital which contains full term lifers) was beneath him, his family managed somehow to have it that he could be released into the grounds of Blackberry Hill hospital from 0800-1800 bang on 0755 a rather large camper van would rock up into the car park, out he'd come and spend the day in the camper, eating, showering and toilet. The food and other facilities etc in Fromeside weren't 'good enough for him', then at 1800 he'd go back in. He'd then start shouting abuse at the staff because they wouldn't jump to his 'demands' something you don't do to staff at a secure mental health unit, i've seen first hand how they deal with it and wouldn't like to be on the receiving end.

He was then moved down to Brentry and if you know where it is and where his family home is, (it's a 5min walk up the road) he was then allowed home during the day with staff. This is where our paths crossed, if the staff were busy and weren't ready bang on the dot when he was going he'd start verbally abusing them, throwing cups at them and if another resident down there dared try to speak to him at ANY time they'd received his wrath.

IMHO this is a person who has been spoilt and got what he's wanted all his life and when this has been taken away from him, he and his family have put their considerable wealth to the fore to try and stop the legal system at every point. It's amazing what money can do. The likes of the general public would never have been able to put of the extradition as long as he and his family did. He is truly is an obnoxious piece of work.

Is he guilty? As the saying goes 'innocent until proven guilty', but it wouldn't surprise me if he was.
