Aizoon
Can you confirm that they were face to face when the butt occurred? because that doesn't seem to be what SC or Wilbs are saying. He us accused of butting (or attempting to butt) the player with the BACK of his head, which would be consistent with his being kicked and pulled backwards. As I said, a premeditated cheat. Red Exile
Can you confirm that they were face to face when the butt occurred? because that doesn't seem to be what SC or Wilbs are saying. Eliot wasn't facing their guy. Their guy was holding him from behind. It looked to me as though Elliot was trying to push him away and in doing so he threw his head backwards. Whether that was deliberate or whether he was pulled I couldn't say but I was sat in the stand just above the incident and as soon as it happened I was worried that he was in trouble. RedorDead BCFC
Don't think the ref was watching the other 88 minutes as well either. Pissed me off that the Swindle players reacted like they stepped on a land mine every time they was touched. Then the challenge on either Cunningham or williams by the corner flag, if they stayed down he might of sent him off but they got up like professionals. And a message to the police, not everyone went on train today so try and make us walk there? It's been years since I've seen fans escorted from AG. Pickle Rick
Bit of karma, either way you look at the whole incident. He got one of their players sent off by fannying around last season. Don't forget that....

Londoner
There is a sense of over reaction by some on here. But it takes 95 minutes of 10 men for us to get beaten....really fancy us next week to come out fighting and do preston.
Guest
If it's rejected given its violent conduct that's a four match ban right?
edada
Swindles tactics from the start were to feign injury any time they were tackled. They then spent 70 minutes trying to break us down and eventually got lucky. How they are 2nd I'll never know but if that's the standard of the 2nd best team in the league, we've nothing to worry about.
HanhamRed
Didn't see it that well but it looked like Elliott was fouled, didn't get the decision and threw an elbow. The linesman gave it and judging by the players reactions from both sides I think it might have been deserved. Hope I'm wrong mind...
cityexile
If it's rejected given its violent conduct that's a four match ban right? 2 yellow cards - 1 match Denying obvious goal scoring opportunity - 1 match Offensive/insulting/abusive language or gestures - 2 matches Serious foul play/violent conduct/spitting at an opponent or any other person - 3 matches 3 or nothing. Assuming the former, its a blow.

Between heaven and hell
Well I was up in the away seats closest to the Swindon fans so had a good look at the incident. To me it looked like there was holding by the Swindon guy hand on shoulders etc and Wade through his head back into his face, straight away I had that feeling of shit he's walking. What did amaze me though were the challenges of Wagstaff and Wilbraham not long after where I thought shit not another one gone, that said I do realise Swindon were out to make the most of the situation by rolling around. maxjak
IF he's got himself caught up in a confrontation that early in a game and can't walk away from the situation then he deserves the ban, a fine and some in house discipline, that's not the action of a captain and a pathetic example to ypu get players. IF the refs made a mistake then I'm sure it will be resinded and we will move on. PLEASE NOT THE WORD IF. U don't sound very casual............sound like you have already made up your mind,,,by using words like "pathetic" & "fine"...dont you think it might be prudent and judicious, to use another couple of words, instead of convening your own personal kangaroo court, before you have even seen any footage or heard any viewpoints? wayne allisons tongues
Just seen it on sky, appears Swindon guy pulls or hits Elliott twice. camera follows ball and there guy is on floor. Unless city have other footage think we may struggle to get it overturned.
formerly known as ivan
Where has this headbutt come from? Just saw it and it was nothing like a headbutt! Whether it should have been a free kick to us first or if he pulled Elliott back first, I must admit it looked to me at Elliott did raise his arm back behind him and whether or not he really catches the player, as already said the ref was looking right at it. Think we will be missing him for a few games.
Portland Bill
So the linesman was conned and the ref felt obliged to back him up? How do I know?

stephenkibby.
waste of time dwelling on it. sounds like nothing is clear, be very surprised if it gets turned over. So up to pack or reid? to step up to the plate for the next 3 games. preston even a bigger game now, think this game will show us how good we are. miketh2nd
Saw it from the arkell and looked like a elbow then a headbutt . Swindler player made a meal of it but Elliot really should of known better , I think it's 50/50 that he gets it rescinded.

B-Rizzle
If the footage people have seen is unclear then the football league won't have enough evidence to overturn the decision regardless of whether it was the correct one or not. Ban will stand IMO.
cidered abroad
Not at game today and only heard second half radio. I note the comments about Swindon players making a meal of any contact. Well what a surprise (not). They behaved exactly like that in last seasons league match at Ashton Gate so it is clearly done on the managers orders. Sorry Mr Cooper Junior, you are a sad impersonation of your father, who never to the best of my knowledge, ever sent a team out to do that. Redbud
Couldn't get an away ticket, so had to sit quietly with the "natives" in the Arkells stand, so could plainly see the Wade Elliott sending off .... Wade definitely reacted to a bit of "handbags" by flicking his head backwards at the "Oscar nominated" Swindon defender Turnbull who rolled around the ground in agony clutching his face ..... Although judging by the size of the fella, I don't think Elliott would have got anywhere near the blokes chin !! ...... Any how .. A bit of a stupid thing to do by the most experienced player on the field & club captain ..... Having said that .. Thought the 10 men on the pitch were absolutely outstanding .. What a show of team spirit & determination, with Luke Freeman, for me,as Man of the Match, creating, tracking back & tackling all over the pitch.... We lost ...... But we an be proud of our Team !! P.S. ........ Always knew about the "Roundabouts" ...... Now I can see about the "Inbreds" as well !!!!

However even if I had gone on the train I would have had my car keys on me as they are with my house keys. Another copper went made at him though for letting a few of us out.
