Would You Post If You Couldn't Hide Behind A Pseudonym?

Some people see football as a release from their day to day world and from what they do 9-5.

Some people likewise see this forum as a release from their day to day world.

Others see this forum as their world.

I would share my details but unfortunately I need to stay incognito from the authorities because of a bad habit of gross indecency on public transport.

I use my real picture on here, so I guess people could find me through that, and a few know me anyway. But I don't post anything that I wouldn't say to people in real life and I certainly don't post anything that might worry an employer, so I guess I'm safe either way.

I know you, but not from an argument

Check my 'friends' list and figure it out.

Don't worry, I know who you are and the famous TSF is coming for you. :shifty:

Is Stylus and Bow Legged Chicken still going down the gate?  I saw BLC a couple of years a go at a random away game.

Not if the PSF get you first, all 3 of us.

I've only seen BLC in the last few years, sat by me once and seemed he had a few shandys. Other than that, I've seen some of the younger ones, who aren't so young anymore. Don't really know them though - seemed to be Tommy's apprentices ;)

It's not so much work, although they certainly can (and have) dismiss/discipline people for social media related activity.

It's more the violent extremists that worry me. I understand that the chances of them targeting little old Fordy are minuscule, but I'd rather that had access to very little information about me.

Does Fordy need an escort ?

I try to be as transparent as possible on here, I use my name as my user name, and even have my ST seat number in my profile.

I like to think I tell it as it is on here, I don't look to start trouble but neither will I back down if I deem my self to be correct.

All that being said, there are some on here that seem to make it their life long ambition to moan, argue and cause problems knowing they have the sanctuary of their user name to hide behind.

There is a fair few on here that know me and I have also met a fair few on here, Ive not all ways got on with the ones I have met, but thats the nature of a forum.

It's a shame that DL has felt the need to remove himself from this forum, but not unexpected, too many on here thought it was fair to have a go at him if the clubs response was not what they wanted.

Cheers

Mark

Pipe down Adrian. I'll have you know that Sebastian is the the running for Fordy junior no 2 when we decide to have sex again.

Jesus, we're on a thread about posting under real names.....and what do you do, Fordy?? I'm taking the piss out of Sebastian (which I actually like, by the way!) and you tell the world I'm called Adrian......thank you!

Bit of an ironic post for someone who has consistently had a pop at people over the years. :fear:

Most forum users who I have had heated discussions with know who I am.  About 10 years ago I had an argument in the Williams stand toilets that stemmed from a thread on here.

100% correct.  You'll know that I'm always saying things that are controversial on my facebook, but that is hardly hiding who I am, In fact, it is quite the opposite.

I am guilty sometimes, actually a lot, of saying things that will deliberately start a debate.  I actually love debating (no mass debater jokes please) in a constructive way.  Dolls and I debate all of the time, and more often than not, I actually agree with what she is saying (don't tell her) , but I'm a firm believer in taking the opposite view in a debate to sometimes "get it" fully.  Might sound random to some.

I think a lot of people on here, well some at least, actually know who I am anyway, through different events I have taken part in or organised over the past few years.  What I have a problem with is personal abuse. Its so easy to do on here, and it completely destroys some good posts and excellent points.  Posts that start with "you're a ******* idiot" etc completely turn me off reading, or simply destroys a debate.  I for one have been sucking into this, and have retaliated myself.

Anyway, for those that don't know me:

I saw Stu from Pilnin on Sunday, it turns out he knows my brother who is a well known poster on here..... ;)

Haha, thats right - I remember Tommy and his group of cronies... And a certain messy day on my birthday where we got chased by the police. Good times.

Ah, I'm struggling with the tone of your response as written text. I'll gladly remove it if you so wish! In future, please make the addition of either an angry or winky face so that we can be absolutely crystal clear about the emotion of the written word.

But have they? I, like many others, haven't seen this? DL was the middle man in all this, so he will get the odd stupid comment, aimed at others, in his general direction. It's his job, he gets paid for doing this

Most of us cop it at some point, I've had far worse said to me at work than I've seen on here. You get on with it, you don't throw your toys out

Ha, I think you know me well enough that I'm not the sort who would worry too much about this :grr: or do I mean ;)

Further to my last post, here's a cautionary tale.........

If you view my post history you'll see 99% of my posts are, brief, throw away comments - Some relevant, some humerous and some insulting.  All a brief distraction of no consequence.

During the Ashton Vale fiasco in a thread about the Nimbys joke suggestions such as deploying snipers, land mines and bamboo pits were suggested.  The context was clear as day.  However, the posts were reported to the police and investigated.  The local media also showed screen grabs of the posts.

It's easy to take things out of context, especially if it suits an agenda.  You wouldn't want to have your name plastered all over the local news.

Anyone in any sort of half decent employment would always take precaution to saying...well...literally anything these days, that could end up getting you in hot water.

Am sure someone who saw or referred to Tetbury Massive's post with his, name address etc etc is wondering where they have gone?

Simply, as noble a gesture it was it wasn't wise posting all that on such an open forum.

I'm sure if anyone wants those details if you drop TM a pm he will more than gladly give it to you

100% agree, I know I keep saying this, but there never was any personal abuse.

We've checked the mod section and there has never been a report from Dave or about Dave
