Officially Signed! Jonathan Kodjia (Merged)

And Its Smith

Recommended Posts

According to some French press we have signed him from Angers SCO. His goals took them to promotion last season to Ligue 1.

Only seen clips on YouTube but looks pretty nippy, both footed but mainly right and decent in the air.

Started a new thread because (a) the main transfer thread is a mess and (b) to stop Fordy claiming credit later.

Link to last seasons goals

Just retweeted something I saw on twitter.....forward from Angers in France, 'will soon sign for Bristol City'

Hopefully we can go pun less with a name like this!

Comes from a guy who contributes to @frenchftweekly an English language French football website.....maybe some truth to it?

Anyone know anything about him!?

Ha - just posted the same thing! Does this mean I am one of Fordy's assistants now too?

Apparently was Ligue 2 player of the year last season but I am only getting that from Twitter. Couple of annoyed Anders fans on there!

Googled him & sounds promising. West Brom, Cardiff & Reading all linked earlier in 2015. 6' 2" and one of the top scorers in French 2nd tier.

Been on loan at Caen and Cherbourg previously, so knows his way to the ferry!

http://www.francefootball.fr/news/Kodjia-arrive-a-bristol-city/575585

Found it on the above link : google translate does this:

Kodjia arrives at Bristol City

Gang by Rennes or Lille, Jonathan Kodjia, best scorer of the SCO Angers in L2 (15 goals this past season), will commit very quickly with Bristol City, club promoted and ambitious of Championship. Age of 25 years, the Franco-Ivoirien will attempt his first experience abroad and do tastes like therefore not to the L1 with the promoted angevin s opinion.

Anyone have an idea of how credible this source is?
