The idea was muted because the forum can hide our true identities.  Lets see who is who !

My name is Tony Jones, aged 56 originally from Wyatts Close in Nailsea and I am an alcoholic Quantity Surveyor who has the hotties for Dollymarie Day (also from Nailsea) and her Mum because she has a pension. I now work in London for the Crown Estates in Piccadilly following several years in the Middle East. In saying that I would go back again tomorrow if the Emir of Qatar will have me back. I know you have offered your Emirship but Yemen is a no no.

I was 3 years old when I first attended Ashton Gate and believe it or not can still remember some of it !!

My son appears on here on occasions as BrizzleBengal.  He is not as gay as he seems.

RIP Bucks

My name is Maxine Hayes, aged 46 originally from Keynsham. I am a Fine Art student and shall be moving to London at the weekend to study for an MA at CSM. I shall return at weekends for home games and possibly take in some London away games if finances allow. I have only had a season ticket since 2008 but my dad (sadly deceased) was a City fan since 1950s and my grand dad (also sadly deceased) had a season ticket after he was married (!) in the mid 1920s. Up the City!

My name's Jim. City fan for as long as I can remember, season ticket holder since 2003/04 season in the Williams but now temporarily relocated to the South Stand. Once upon a time I was reasonably good at football. Well good enough to play for the satellite academy of a certain other west country team who happen to wear Blue and White quarters up in the midlands. I also played for semi-pro side Halesowen Town before being scouted for the aforementioned quartered team.

THEN I discovered alcohol and girls. And spent more time with them both than I should've practicing at football. Never mind eh, looking back I don't think I could;ve been arsed with pre-season training even if I had have made it. Nowawdays I'm not very good at football, but am happy as I'm about to start my Masters in Stem Cell Science. I'm something of a traitor, having done my BSc at UWE and now going to study at UOB.

That's about it really.

So my name is Dolly/Dolls. Technically my real name is Marie, but more people in this world call me Dolly/Dolls. The reason I got my nickname (for those that don't know) is because when I was a toddler, I used to have a dolly that I carried round in a bag everywhere I went, and my family started calling me "Dolly bag lady." The name stuck, and even my Mum calls me Dolly/Dolls.

Im almost 36, I just bought my 2nd home (sold the first one, not that I own two houses!) and live in South Bristol. I have worked with kids since the age of 18. Spent 11 years as some of you know caring for a disabled lad called Marchant, who is now 19 and at University. For the last almost 6 years, I have worked with children and families who live in very difficult circumstances.

The reason I bought myself my new house is that I want to be a foster carer. I have a medical condition that means it is highly unlikely I will be able to have children. So I'm gonna do the next best thing.

I have three cats, who drive me insane, but I love them really. They're called Dave, Lola and Bruce. I am also due to become an Aunty for the second time in the next month or so, which I am very excited about.

Been a city fan since my late teens, it would have been sooner but I grew up in a family that preferred that egg chasing game. I've now been a season ticket holder for over a decade, and have only missed 7 home games in 8 years.

i think that's it :)

My name is Alan Robinson aged 60. Retired Clinical Nurse Specialist working in the NHS. For the last 26 years of my career I was in the speciality of alcohol addiction.

I have a daughter and a son and both live in Bristol. I live in the West End of Nailsea not far from the Blue Flame pub. It's a very rural environment. The cows go by twice a day during the summer months and I regularly get stuck behind a tractor.

My first City game was aged 12 in 1967. I'm not sure but I think it was against Oxford and apart from my  amatuer football career through the 70s I've been to nearly every home game since.

Hobbies are mainly bowls both indoor and outdoor. I guess I can say following City is a hobby as well.

I'm Martin, 30 next year.

Spent the best part of 25 years in Whitchurch before moving out of my parents house in 2010 after which I lived in Crews Hole for 5 years in a flat before we bought our first house in Oldland Common at the end of May this year.

Have been with the other half since we were 15 after meeting at the delightful Hengrove School, which I attended from 97-02 then 02-04 for sixth form. Been in full time work ever since, at law firms, a student accommodation company, an insurance broker, and more recently in the energy sector where I've been for the last 3 years.

Qualified as a chartered accountant back in 2013 after several years study around full time work which interrupted my season ticket holder status for a couple of years, but thankfully/sadly (delete as appropriate) there's no excuse now.

Sit in the South Stand, block S22 (Corleone, if you're reading this, please don't come and 'end me')

Hobbies include drinking wine, eating, and more recently, since we bought a house, spending every spare penny I have ever had so my as yet unplanned children can inherit a free property, the ungrateful shits.

My name is Gareth, or 'G' to my friends. Technically my first visit to Ashton Gate would have been in the 70's when we were in the top flight, but I was too young to remember really. Although I remember rooting for City via the radio for the 86 Frieght Rover final, it was the following year that the signing of Joe Jordan compelled me to take myself to AG. I sat in the Dolman, we won 5-2 against Brighton, Jordan scored and I was hooked. The following three years, culminating in the 1990 promotion side remain my favourite City era.

I grew up in Portishead (when it was just the 'old town') and moved into Bristol in 95. I have worked in the pub trade for the twenty years since, the last thirteen of which have been in the vicinity of Whiteladies Road, where for the time being I can still be found.

Unfortunately, as my trade involves working weekends, these days I can not get to AG as often as I would like (which would be every game).

Anyhoo... this is me.

Got married far to young, although have lovely wife and 2 kids. Ruby my eldest (4) went to her first game against Burnley. I have high hopes of my son Freddie following in the footsteps of many watts men in our family and carrying on the city tradition. I've had same seat in block e dolman since 1989 although we are thinking of moving to the new Williams???? My interesting fact is I've just found out I'm Robbored postman! Dave, 34, originally from Hanham but now living nearly within spitting distance of the gas lot (I know cos I regularly try).

Started watching City in 1988 and we won the first ten games I went to I think.  Watched virtually every home game for next 15 years.  Since starting a family five years ago I don't go anywhere near as often as I used too but that will change in a few years when the boy reaches 8 or 9.

My job as a National Account Manager for a toy company takes me regularly up north and to London so I watch as many midweek away games as I can.  Usually a few a season and have Preston and Brighton coming up!

I'm Richard (41), from kingswood, Gloucestershire, and now live in Dublin (came here for two weeks in 1999 and never left, but that's another story). First game was in 1984 (I think) when city played Notts County (days of Tom Ritchie, Jon Shaw etc). Used to come down with my Dad (City Fan) and grandfather (rovers fan who just loved watching football... An oxymoron??).

Used to watch City every week at home and the odd game away.... Now it's a couple of times a season. Used to stand on the open end when football had soul and character (the days of Big Old Merv and his mates who were some of the funniest guys I ever met)...

Hardly ever post on here but read on a daily basis....

Arthur, fifty bleedin' four

came to Bristol to go to art school in 79 (no exams to do anything else)

originally a long distance Hammers fan, first went to the Gate to see them play City (2-2 in the Milk cup 1980?) i was in the away end and afterwards had a bit of bother with a police horse!

made a film about the job of the groundsman at AG, then my mate Bill a long standing fan, took me down the East end to watch Gordon Owen miss a penalty (oh yes) against Swindon and I kept on going. I did enjoy pillar 4 in the East End for many years, before we shifted to the Atyeo

Named my first lad after Joe Jordan, and the next 2 were also born during the toothless one's 2 spells in charge but they were not named after him, else i'd have 3 boys called Jordan.

oddly when i was a lad, i lived 3 doors down from Terry Cooper in Yorkshire - so when I first watched them Tel was the manager.

Alan, stonemason from kingswood now Gloucester, been a city nut for 50 plus years; been to most away grounds (many of which are now gone) used to go all home most away back starting 68/9; been to the top and bottom with my club.........enough.....now hardly go at all............got the t shirt as they say...... now stricken with c.o.l.p.d am concentrating on one day at a time and keeping alive to see it.

Been around the world and seen many places, will always follow my team but other things take priority, millionares call the shots on and off the pitch so will prob see more of my local teams in the future, wouldn't have missed a second of my memories of my club though.

Bucks seemed a great guy missed out on meeting him, best wishes to you all CTID

My name is Horace and I am 4 years old, which is quite old for a hedgehog. I like slugs and single malt whisky. My friend John takes me to the football sometimes. I got stepped on at the Burnley game but it won't put me off.

John is very old for a human (about 4 hedgehog years) and has grey *****les. He has had the same lady human mate for 19 years and he's  been married to her for 10.

He says he saw his first game at the Gate when he was at school at QEH (just like Joe Bryan, but a bit earlier) and he remembers John Atyeo playing. It was all much better then, he says, but he says that about everything.

He has a season ticket in the Dolman for the first time in ages, but we missed the first two games for a wedding anniversary and a man cold. He was snuffling more than me! He drinks lots of cider and lives on Marmite crisps. He sometimes has a nip of my whisky to keep out the cold, even in the summer. Humans can be very odd.

We live in Horfield which is full of horrid Gasheads, but they are convenient for mocking, he says. He can be seen in the Annexe on Mondays for the quiz and the Cat & Wheel as the mood takes him. He is kind to hedgehogs, especially those less fortunate than I.

Im Ed,33,  live in Lincolnshire, my local team is Grimsby. I have 3 daughters and the youngest (3) knows all the words to "one for the bristol city" off by heart. Been a city fan for 25 years thanks to my dad. Mum and Dad are from Portishead, still got uncles that live there and my brother lived in Redcliffe until he sadly passed away at the start of the summer. My nephew and his Mrs have season tickets so im hoping to catch a few games later on in the season.

Go to quite a few northern away games, my favorite being the 5-4 win at Mansfield when we were just walking out at 4-1 down, fortunately I needed a slash, the rest is history. When I was 18 I drunkenly got the City crest tattooed on my leg.

My biop of being a city fan is in the link about my old man....I bleed Red!

Steve 45, now living in Victoria, British Columbia.  Occupation, Cable Guy.

My first confession is that my beloved City were not my first love.  It was another.

Born in Wiltshire living in Corsham, I moved up north to York when I was young. My Dad, who supports various teams, took me to watch York City V AFC Bournemouth 1979.  I loved it.  Football was in my veins.  I was 9. But York were not my team.  I then saw my beloved team play, in the 1980 FA Cup reply v Everton at Elland Road.  I was still 9. West Ham.

However we moved to Australia in Jan 1981 and it was a football wilderness.  We then moved back to Corsham in 1985 and my new friend from school suggested I go watch Bristol City v Rotherham.  I stood in the Eastend that day and my life has never been the same.  I couldn't get enough.  r*****s just started to play at Bath, and my school was very divided, it may not have been Bristol, but there was bad blood growing up and still is to this day.  I watched City Home and Away over the next 23 odd years seeing them play in over 60 away grounds. I was a season ticket holder in the Dolman.  My mates from Wiltshire sat up in the Dolman where we all met our new mates from Bristol, that bond has grown over the years, and we have seen marriages, divorces, passings and more importantly  kids, new City fans.

I served my Country in the Royal Navy as a Submariner missing many City games, due to being away.  I find myself in that position once again.  I have been in Canada for 13 years now.  I miss it like crazy.

I remember walking out of my last game in 2003 v Peterbourgh one cold tuesday night after a dire performance, convincing myself, that moving to Canada was the right thing to do, as "you cant live your life for your football team".  Well I was as wrong then as I am today.  I do live my life for my football team.  But more importantly, is the friendship that has grown with my new friends that I miss so much.

Luke, 32 years old, teacher of English to non native speakers.

First City game was in March 1990. We drew 1-1 vs Mansfield with Bob Taylor scoring a last gasp equalizer. I followed city avidly from then on although I didn't start going to games regularly until about 10 years after that when I became old enough.

3 years ago I moved to China to start a new life. In that time I've missed a relegation, a promotion and a paint pot win but there hasn't been a single moment when I've regretted moving away. My love for the club isn't any less than it was before and I look forward to the next time I watch us play with the new Williams up and running!

Brett Liddiatt, 22. My Dad was a Bristol Rovers fan so when I was young I can only assume he tried to make me one, unfortunately he died when I was 8 and up until then I wasn't really interested in football. My uncle took me to my first city game when I was about 12 and we beat Cheltenham 3-1, cant remember who scored the goals but have been addicted to city ever since. I wasn't able to get a season ticket until 2007 thanks to a very protective mother who wouldn't let me do anything without her! but have had one since and loved every minute..... well maybe not every minute! Have been living in Bristol my whole life but as of next year I'll be relocating to Cornwall to open up a pub/b&b, very much looking forward to this! I'm not an alcoholic but from 2007-2014 I had a very unhealthy addiction to Marvin Elliott... to this day he remains my favourite ever city player. I also have 2 English Bull Terriers, Buster (10) and Flint (6 months) yes he's named after Aden! Just praying now if he does move on, he doesn't leave like Maynard did! Otherwise the dog will have to be rehomed....

I'm RIchard Coombs - brought up in Whitchurch but a naturalised BS3-er since 1998. Nearly 42 but with a mental age considerably below this. Schooled at Wansdyke and Bristol Grammar School but joined the ranks of the oppressed and started work in 1990. Went to my first City game with my (sadly no longer with us) Father in appx 1982 after pestering him & my (other) grand-father (see above, he was the one I never knew) to go the football with them. They probably relented as we were so poor surely I'd never enjoy it, but how wrong they were!

I've had a season ticket in the Dolman Block C (now renamed to E-something) since 1997/1998 season and most of the faces around have stayed the same. Early memories include the Hereford 3-0 and the subsequent coach trip to Wembley. The "Support Bristol City Now or Never" campaign (recently found some of this stuff) and buying old programs in the City shop off Beryl for 3 for 20p or so. Bob Taylor hat-trick v. Crewe, Roberts v. Hartlepool, Trunds v. Palace, Donowa v. the sags will all stay with me til my dying day. BCFC is in the blood, there's no doubt about that.

In a nice echo to the above story I met my now wife after City v. Cardiff in the Rising Sun/BS3 and we haven't looked back. She's a ST holder too, but with the rough 'uns in the Atyeo.  We have a beautiful boy, Harry, who's 2 and a half and set to carry on the family tradition!

When I go, I'd like "Drink up thy Zider" to be played as a memory of happier times at AG for all/any in attendance!

Paul, oldish, I live in a pretty little village up in the Cotswolds.  Went to university and have done a variety of jobs all over the place that has taken me across the globe.

Gorgeous wife (punching well above weight - me, not her) and 2 nippers, now both at secondary school.  They're great :)

ST holder with my little lad in the Dolman, although I'm an Eastender at heart.  You're bound to see John at some point in his wizzy "Gulf Racing" wheelchair.  After a few beers I wish I had one too.

First city game, back in the 80s against Wolves I think.

I love chips, beer, beer and chips.  Erm, also rock music and whinging quite a bit.

Now part of a startup company so in my dreams I've very rich.

I wouldn't advise anyone to put personal details on an open forum, I really can't stress this enough I'm afraid.

Sorry to seem killjoy

Probably a good idea to leave off surnames and workplaces.  The rest shouldn't be a problem.

OK

My name is ******* ******** and I work in BS* and also off the south coast.

I have been supporting BCFC for a long time now and get to most games home and away when work permits. I've been in the William's stand for over 20 yrs but now watch from the corner of the SS. People used to think I supported the gas at one time but that's just a vicious lie.

I am currently renovating a property in South Bristol which is taking much longer than I hoped but will be a lovely home for my family when finished. I try to support the team as much as I can and seem to spend quite a lot of my income following my beloved club. I get quite a lot of stick on this forum but I guess, like Robbored, I'm a bit misunderstood.

My hobbies are Football, Rugby, Basketball and Motor racing and the stock market.

And a private jet and a game reserve in Botswana.

Fantastic, we are cousins and Big Tone made it all possible, perhaps we ought to rename him Cilla !! The power of the OTIB forum.

Tim, 48 years old and father to 2 secondary school brats. One was a little red who went to loads of games before swapping to glory hunting and Chelsea ( I WILL get him back). A former  east ender now in the South stand with my daughter ànd dear old dad.

Originally from a gas infested Kingswood but escaped to Barrs Court a few years ago.

First game was against York in 1975 when Tom Ritchie scored a hat trick and I was hooked.

Schooled at the mighty (now a 6th form) Saint Brendans college so, yes, I chased eggs as a youth but follow City with every ounce and have done for 40 years.

I'm not an alcoholic but have been known to get sh1t faced occasionally.

Edit: Loving the scooter old stand robin!
