BS2 Red Posted June 2, 2016 Report Share Posted June 2, 2016 I was in holiday in Florida during the 2002 World Cup and got up at 4am to go to an "English" pub to watch England v Sweden. When I arrived there was a group of Scottish people there wearing Swedish shirts and with their faces painted in Swedish flags. It was all good fun and there was no real nastiness, but I'm still amazed that people would get up that early in the morning, paint their faces and actually buy a shirt just to try and wind up fans of a team. Of course they want us to lose, just like any other sporting rivalry. Either way it's a bit of banter, some people really do take everything too seriously. Not entirely sure why the fact that some people in those countries might not share my attitude, should change my opinion? Personally, I hope that all four of us get out of the group stage.
