Why don't we turn up in the 1st half ?

As Red Exile says LJ is getting something right - after not playing well in the first half at Ashton Gate, he is great at making positive changes from his original team to ensure we score goals in the 2nd half.

Just wish he could get the selection right first time -play 2 up front at home and pose a threat in the first half !

There's no doubt we start each game with a much more cautious approach than we ever did under Cotts. He wanted to get at the opposition from the start and we were found wanting in this league. LJ's approach is clearly working. The signing of Abraham was a master stroke, but on the other hand without his goals things would look a great deal different. So I'm not convinced LJ is getting it totally right just yet. Having said that we are 6th, so a few small tactical improvements here and there might lead to us getting very excited come the end of the season. Here's hoping:fingerscrossed:

The only point i'd take up with you here is that without Abraham's goals perhaps we'd have someone elses ?

As football is a team game maybe the goals would have been spread around more , maybe Wilbs would be topping the goal charts or may be we'd be bottom desperately short of firepower . It's not a given that take one player out of the equation that the rest remains the same .

How many were predicting doom and gloom after Kodja's 20 goals were 'sold to Villa ' ?

Conjecture , all good fun .

Can you expand by what you mean by playing 'two up front'? You do realise when attacking, we play with generally 3 'up front' and four advancing in midfield. Do you want to reduce that...or do you mean playing two players up the field as high as Tammy off the last defenders shoulder? If the latter...no one does that...for a reason.

Swings and roundabouts mate...I wouldn't look to much into it tbh. Our results have been so close, games could have gone either way. We haven't battered anyone, and no one has battered us.

You look at the league and it's pretty much the same for all teams.

I really do believe it is to our advantage, that we do squad rotate. It does give us an element of surprise and no team playing us can predict how we will set up and with which players.

We have to find ways to compete at this level. We don't necessarily have the experience and quality of some teams...but we do have other attributes that we use to our advantage. This is one of them imo.

We battered Fulham.

7 championship home games and we have lost just one - I don't think teams look forward coming to AG as much as in the past... fortress Ashton Gate is becoming a reality, and whatever LJ is doing to make it so seems to be working by hook or crook and can only get better.

2 up, front means just that. Tammy is completely isolated up front and we do not play to his strengths with aerial balls. Need to get other players much closer to him .Often has 2/3 defenders on him and the ball comes straight back. Surely you have seen this in the first half of all our games at the gate this year. A reminder we have not scored in the first half at Ashton Gate this season. and often no shots on target. Why not start with Wilbs up there with Tammy to win possession  and bring others into the play.  Engvall  to come on when Wilbs tires . Tomlin playing more advanced just behind these front 2. Just having Tammy up front allows the opposition to comfortably  retain possession and start to play from the back under no pressure.

Our play in the second half has been generally excellent with  quicker pressing on their defenders and generally as a result of changes bringing on another forward  playing  2 up front and our midfield and Tomlin much closer to the forwards causing their defenders  much more to worry about.
