I wouldn't want to be a copper on match days; the way many City fans act is downright embarrassing and pathetic. They think they are being the 'big man' sticking it to the establishment, but it's just embarrassing, especially the new Clearasil Crew in the Atyeo decked out in Stone Island and Aquascutum scarves.

That said, I have witnessed the Heddlu lashing out at our fans who genuinely were doing nothing. At Cardiff away when the pub got trashed a few seasons ago, I witnessed a Heddlu on horse back absolutely clatter a man in his late 50s/60s who was literally doing nothing other than walking with his son in the escort. When people intervened to help the old man, who's head was pouring with blood at this point, the dogs ad batons were released. A friend of mine almost got arrested purely for trying to help the man off the floor. As an eye witness, I can confirm he did absolutely nothing, looked like your typical older City fan in a scarf from the shop, not causing any trouble at all. 100% unprovoked police brutality from the Welsh.

Can second this account 100%.

Horrific away day

Another massive waste of police sources, sure, go after whoever assaulted the steward no problem with that but I would love to know the offences for "early morning raids" there have been no raids on the people who attacked my Son in town 6 months ago or the low-life that burgled my house last year, in fact I haven't heard from the police since, get ready for the fake evidence with 6 plod coming out with exactly the same cock & bull story made up over coffee in the police station canteen next morning, Hedlu are on a par with the West Midlands "firm"

Well we got burgled and the police were brilliant. With so much thugery going on in the name of so called football fans its no wonder theres loads of coppers on duty.Have a go  at the so called violent fans there the ones who started it all !.Years ago the fans used to mix and it was brilliant.

Is there REALLY that much of a problem at football nowadays? Certainly nowhere near the issues there used to be at City matches. But PLEASE don't imply the police haven't been a major cause in these problems continuing

A quick question.

Remember in September the trouble at the rugby game v Exeter? I believe a steward got hurt that evening also.

Dawn raids for the culprits? Don't recall reading of any...

There hasn't even been a polite tap on the door, let alone a knock.

How many "man hours" did the police spend trawling through the masses of video tapes no doubt itching to find some possible minor offence, complete and utter waste of police resources, I look forward to knowing what these "offences" are that justify these arrests, I'm expecting to see little video evidence but many eyewitness statements mainly from police officers

If the video evidence is anything like last time, there will be plenty of shots of the ceiling or sky followed by fans throwing punches,or as in some cases heavily edited videos, and not one question by the beaks as to why it has been edited.I reckon anyone who could afford a good lawyer would get their case laughed out of court,I mean edited videos, shots of fans doing nothing much followed by shots of the sky followed fans now lashing out at the police,a top lawyer would have a field day.

Not if said video evidence showed provocation by the police, which would surely be a sort of entrapment, and if they cannot produce full coverage of said incidents, then why not,if videos have been edited then why.

all ifs though aint it...the ob want to stitch you up they'll do it regardless of circumstances

I still say a good lawyer would drive a hole through their case though.

I am able to say the following as court cases are now pending.

photos were released of 12 suspects via Avon and Somerset website and the post. All were identified within 5 days.

6 were charged yesterday with public order offences and assault , all in connection with assaults on stewards and then on police officers who were attending to his medical needs.

cctv is clear, however once the court dates are over it will then be able to be released.

I will be able to say more after court cases.
