If any Birmingham fans are reading this ;the police and club are monitoring and checking ticket purchases.

E mails are being sent to those suspicious transactions and those obvious away purchases have already been cancelled.

police advice is there are no tickets for sell on the day. if you are found in home areas you will be ejected with no transfers to the away end, there is no room!!

Speak to everyone in Bristol dialect on the turnstiles. Anyone looking perplexed can be sent on their way. Sorted.

I have sat in a home end away from home many times.

Just have to play by the rules. Behave, respect where you are, and never known a problem. Just need to ask yourself honestly whether you can. In my youth I could not have, now I can.

Part of what attracts us is the tribal element. Act like a dick in the wrong end, then you are always a hostage to who is around you and how they react.

Me too. Many times.

Unfortunately, we all know knuckle-dragging simpletons can't help themselves sometimes.

It will be a disaster if we look like relegating them. Unfortunatly not taking my 6 year old on Sunday as not sure the atmosphere will be pleasant for young kids.

Just got a bad feeling this could all go wrong!

Fair enough. I'd be with you if my nipper was 6.

I think they'll be safe come the end, but it may be a bumpy ride for them before they get there.

I'd be amazed if Sunday goes off without incident(s) whatever happens result wise

Very p'd off Blues or over excited Blues I can foresee problems personally

Clearly we do not have the space, but the recent way MK dealt with this at home v Sheff Utd made me laugh.

Basically, away end sold out. They made an announcement before kick off something along the lines of 'yep, we know there are away fans in the home stands. Decided on balance to open a new block next to your lot, and if you really want, stewards will escort you around'. It was a little of a shock when about one third of the 'home crowd' ended up being moved to in the end two blocks opened up. A home fan I know said it was like the exodus out of Egypt all of a sudden.

Thanks for clarifying.

In my opinion, it is an extremely provocative thing to do unless you keep your mouth shut and sit on your hands.

I don't think its provocative, necessarily.

I'm middle aged, middle class and mild mannered but I can't stand watching football from behind the goal, so I don't like being with the away fans much, as that's always where they are put.

As such, I'm always tempted to get a seat in the home areas at the side of the pitch, just for the view. I've done that at Fulham - but I am discreet, wear no colours and try not to react when we score.

And me...I must say that watching Wade get sent off right in front of me at Swindon tested my resolve...but I kept my thoughts to myself and sat tight to watch the post match celebrations of them winning the World Cup. Things haven't quite turned out as the locals fans I was sat with expected!

Haha, I most likely was not that far away from you in that stand...

As an aside, I assume we are getting our end of season lap by the players? Will be fun if Bham have just been relegated!

I was in the home end that day. My little lad spent the whole game complaining about Swindon's antics.

Swindon fans were either foul mouthed or pussy cats. No real passion.

We were sat alongside 10 of his mates - all Swindon fans. We had the last laugh though with the return fixture and promotion. And their demise this year to boot.

Worst of it was that I live not far from Swindon and found myself sat not far from Swindon fans who knew me...kept my head down. To be honest I feel sorry for the decent fans they have, their decline has been pretty spectacular!

I've never had a problem with away fans sitting in home ends, as long as they behave, and as long as you're not depriving a home fan of a ticket.

I've done it myself at plenty of places, although nowhere that could ever really be described as hostile, just keep your head down and you'll be fine. Maybe go for a bit of aggressive pointing at your mates in the away end to blend in a bit more.

** PS :  from the top tier of the West Stand its a bloody long way down if you're ejected and travelling down one the police/stewards rapid ejection chutes.  (see above)

What do you do when they score? Just stand up and applaud?

Imagine the goalscorer came running over and jumped over the billboard to hug you?!?!

Think that's where the problem may lie for this game

If they score a vital goal it's going to be very hard to sit on their hands and keep quiet and there will always be one or two who get carried away

Just have to ignore them.
