Lrrr
Anyone remember the last time we had 2 openers with such unorthodox techniques? We seem to have had at least 1 correct player for quite a while (Cook, Strauss, Vaughan)

Im not sure how quick all the Kiwi pacemen are but de Grandhomme was around the mid 80s which in test cricket isn’t that quick.
EmissionImpossible
England did well today considering. NZ have a decent bowling unit but it will be interesting to see how their batting is apart from Williamson. Root looked out of sorts. elhombrecito
Loving the cricket starting at 9pm. Perfect time to relax and watch the first session each evening
Lanterne Rouge
Not England related but a shout out to Naseem Shah of Pakistan today. Sixteen years old and made his test debut at the Gabba earlier. He came in at No.11 and the first ball he faced was from Mitchell Starc who was on a hat trick. If that isn`t pressure in a sporting arena I don`t know what is! He ended up out for seven but fair play to the lad, that`s an experience he`ll never forget no matter how long he plays the game for. Robbored
Stokes soooo close to a century, out to a cracking catch by Taylor for 91.......278/5..... Edited November 21, 2019 by Robbored

Dolman_Stand
Buttler must be pissed off with this, finally comes in with a decent platform and plenty of wickets in hand and within a few overs its back to clinging on with Leach and Broad

Robbored
350 is about par according to the commentators ......400 good and around 450 England definitely in charge........ Edited November 21, 2019 by Robbored
Super
Slightly disappointing not to reach 400 but reckon we are ahead in the game. Getting Williamson out was massive.

Lrrr
How much of the ball has to be in line? Looked like a little of the ball may have been for Leach's there, how much would umpires call be?

I know, depressingly familiar isn't it, we seem to get in, Labour away for half an hour, then with 15/25 on the board waft at one a foot and a half outside off stump, then, blame our new aggressive outlook for the fact that we're relying on Stokes or Buttler to avert a desaster again... B1ackbird
Alex Stewart on the debate, stop banging on and on and on and on about Surrey.. B1ackbird
Nassar Hussain has given up pretending he doesn't hate anything remotely Somerset related and couldn't even appear in this morning debate as he's constructed a Voodoo Alter and the mere mention of Jack Leech sends his into a trance and starts speaking in tongues. My new favourite bowler is Sam Curren who's scowl reminds me of a teenager who's had his PlayStation plivlages taken away. Come on England... And Its Smith
Was baffled by the selection pre match and still am. How is Woakes not in this team? Broad and Archer are streaky. Should have played Woakes and not Pope.

Mr Popodopolous
Shows signs of our problems on flatter pitches tbh- it's all well and good bowling in English conditions, be it the pitch or the overheads but our conditions in world cricket fairly unique IMO. A good thing, but a double-edged sword.
Admin phantom Posted November 26, 2019 Admin Report Share Posted November 26, 2019 The thing that gets me, is there is talk about this test series not counting towards this new league format so it doesn't matter if we don't win or not and that we can experiment whilst out there Try telling that to all those people who have spent a fortune following the team out in NZ
