A real itch

Got a new home shirt yeterday wore it with it today and finding the collar really irritating around my neck and I did see a few people with t shirts underneath the home top at the game, just wondering if it's just me or you get used to it sorry if already mentioned somewhere else

I had exactly the same thing, my girlfriend tried it on and found it the same. Raised on another thread. I asked in the shop but they said no complaints about it. My girlfriend brought her own one and hers is fine. I wonder if there was a duff batch?

I tried washing it. Doesn't seem to have made any difference yet. I got the purple one too and that seems fine. It's weird. Hope it's not the same for the players!

Might send them a email but don't no if it's worth swapping for another if a lot of other people have same problem just have to get some thicker skin  or wear a t shirt underneath

Did you wash it before wearing it ?

The process of fabrication uses many chemicals so it is advisable to systematically wash any new garment before putting it next to your skin .

I moved to Oz in 1971 & remember that shop from my younger days.

Yeah still there naught my first poo in a can from there went around town putting it on bycicle seats, sorry if it was anyone on here's bike I was 12  and thanks @Major Isewater shame as I love the 'brand new feel' but rather that than the itch thanks for info

I had exactly the same problem and phoned the club shop to ask them what I should do. The bloke on the phone said I should have a good scratch, and this should sort out the problem.

Yep same, unfortunately this happened on my shirt the second time I put it on.. will be getting in touch with the club shop today

The kids shirts are just the same. Washed it but didn't make a difference, however my youngest wore his 2 days running and found it wasn't so bad the second day. Maybe they'll improve after a few washes.

Threads like this make me realise how football has changed -for those of us of certain age going to football in the 70's and 80's having an itchy shirt was the least of your worries.

Anyone else remember Graham's Gags just off East St? Long gone now but spent most summers buying pea shooters and a bag of peas in there.

I got them on my hands just not my neck  and @Abraham Romanovich It's just the fact u buy the shirt and and then don't want to wear it seems a waste of money, wish I was old enough to be around then

Had the exact same flaw happen to my lads purple shirt and the lime shorts  - got it last Monday and did not wear it all week until Saturday and then we noticed the flaw. Managed to lose the receipt so was not sure what the club shop would do - also his name and number were on the back! Went to store an hour before kickoff & to be fair the manager in the store just said pick a new one out and they'll swap it no problem plus the lettering- was impressed with their response.He did say that I would have to queue- at that point the queue snaked around the whole shop but that was not a problem as was just glad to get it sorted as my lad would have been gutted!

Glad you got it sorted. Club shop was brilliant with me said to post it back and they'll send me a new one out! Fair play Bristol Sport!

Yep, I used to work in East St in the late 80s.

Remember buying a can of "shit in a can" and those horrible flavoured sweets.  I went through a phase where my work colleagues would nick stuff out of my lunch box, so I left my lovely bag of sweets in there.  Revenge was sweet.

Just to add a me too.

My shirt is also extremely irritating around the collar. I got it at the begining of the month. I've washed it and its not really any better. I think I'll take a trip to the shop this weekend and see if they will replace it.
