The official Bristol City FC v Reading FC match day thread 24

0-0 HT, pretty dire. Reading winning way too many of the 2nd balls, luckily so far their final balls have been cack. Brownhill having a mare, made a right mess of one great break we had knocking the ball too far in front of himself, lost possession when receiving the ball from our FK which led to Pack taking a yellow as they broke.

Taylor trying to find pockets of space, Reid not contributing anything.

Too many out there look like they over indulged yesterday, LJ needs to give 'em a rollicking. Reading look equally poor. This should be a home win if we can play anything like our best in the 2nd half.

Nope, won't be happy without the win today whatever happens in the other games

Uh oh it's going to everyone's head.

Ofcourse we want to win every game, but we're not going to.

With our current injuries, it's a miracle what's we have achieved last few games. We've literally got a bare 12 of first team regulars

Pack could have been off - very poor to put in that 2nd challenge. We look same as we did first half at qpr - off the pace. I won't moan too much because of how tough it's been lately and a lack of options on the bench too. Hoping for better 2nd half - perhaps Elliasson can be the match winner.

Marginally the better team, but we totally lack width and our final ball is poor, Taylor had the best chance with the header but had to hit the target at least?.

As for Pack once more for me he shows the best and the worst of his discipline or lack of it, he has been playing generally well but very rash challenge whilst on a yellow shows total indiscipline IMO.

Apart from one ridiculous back header Magnússon has looked good.

This game maybe needs Eliasson for Pack and drop Reid deeper.

If we stopped launching aimless balls toward two 5ft something forwards we might get a little more success. Frankie shouldn’t be playing, Steele a far more rounded keeper, and can actually distribute the ball. All in all, dire so far. But we all know this team, a strong second half I suspect.

Long balls to Taylor and Reid need to stop unless it's to play the ball over the defence for them too run onto. The few times they get passes in wide areas the midfield are not moving, the ball gets passed back to the half way line, back to a defender, back to fielding. We also do it when we receive free kicks just pushing ourselves back to our half/goal line for no reason.

Hope we have a better second half.

Fearing a 0-1 today, hoping a 1-0! Never convinced right now we are best with two up front, but really, other than Pato who may not be 100% who else do we have?

Arguably did us the biggest favour by not sending off Pack.

Didn't look like a foul from where I was sitting (admittedly not a perfect view). The offside decision was farcical, especially as the way it was "resolved" was them kicking the ball out for a throw in deep in our half. We were on the attack when that mistake was made.

Aluko tried to get Pack sent off.

He sprinted like his ass was on fire after the free kick .
