A lot depends on the logistics of the stadium, also the size of away support. But in my experience, atmosphere is invariably driven by what's happening on the pitch e.g the Man Utd fans didn't outsing us did they, despite 2600 of them having a prime position behind the goal! Nothing to do with villa
wendyredredrobin
The south stand sings but soyls do better, the dolman aings a bit but we need more voices here too. The west stand must be full of mutes as far as I can tell. Can nobody on that side of the ground sing?
Lord Northski
Would agree that the atmosphere was disappointing. From S24 Wolves sounded pretty impressive all game as did our singing section. You guys over there have been very impressive all season, looks amazing as well. We try to make as much noise as we can in 24, but sometimes it feels like pushing a rock up hill. Seem that when there’s a lot of new fans the atmosphere is muted, almost as if they’re waiting to be entertained by everyone else. Perhaps it’ll take a few games before the new people find their voice. For the record, from S24 we couldn’t hear anything coming from the Lower or Upper Lansdown or the Dolman on Saturday. Not sure about the Lansdown, as it may just be acoustics and there’s not really been enough games with that many fans there to pass comment. But the Dolman have sounded pretty loud on occasions in the past. But Saturday wasn’t one those occasions. We talk on here enough about players not showing up, and we also talk about the fans being the 12th person on the pitch. But Saturday was definitely a time when our 12th player didn’t turn up.
