Unless City get offered silly money none of our players will be off this month. The club have no need to sell anyone.

I predict that if City don't reach the PL this season then Bryan in particular will be off in the summer. One of the bigger PL clubs will offer silly money for him.

Is Tim close to what goes on at City?

Seems to have made a couple of bold statements in last 24 hours re outgoings but also that we are in advanced discussions with five clubs, stating that we are after two perm and one loan signing

Tim is on the forum himself @Tim S I think.  Tim - can you give us more intel on this?

I’m not sure Tim has said anything any of us wouldn’t have guessed.  Imagine Downsy had tweeted this!

I’m amazed at the amount of info the stewards seem to know, when in fact they are never right.

The only gossip / rumour I heard from a fan (face to face) that was 50% true was Kodjia was going to Derby (the false bit) and Jamie Paterson was being announced at half-time (the true bit).

i like the transfer forum for a bit of lively debate, opinion, but i’m Still very much one who waits for official announcement.

Can anyone tell me for the love of this club WHY Johnson keeps putting flint up front against wolves at 0-0 it worked and we went 1 up That’s the time you revert back and tell your forward to chase down every ball , NO he leaves him up and fielding has to cover and we’ll we know the rest

TONIGHT 2-0 half time flint gets chucked up front although we bring on Taylor ? Next thing we’re 4-0 down and making us look stupid . THEN he brings him back , is this desperation / panick - come on if we can’t win the game then let’s not lose it and before anyone starts I don’t hold all that bollocks about team are tired -same fixtures as everyone else- now let’s do it right and play all reserves sat and f##k fa Cup US FANS WANT PROMOTION NOT CUPS

Teams no longer play one rigid formation as they once did season after season.

Players should be multifaceted. Joe Bryan is. Rob Newman was - Goal scoring defender, midfielder, forward?

Defenders can play the width and length of the pitch. Full backs can play pushed up, centre backs split, midfield players rotate and on this goes. Bristol City's do. And City's players are multifaceted and this includes Aden Flint.

Aden Flint is primarily a defender but he has aspects beyond defending, Aden Flint is a goal scoring phenomenon. Aden Flint is efficient at winning first balls. Both statistical facts as well as merely opinions formed by using our eyes. It makes no sense to ignore those attributes in a game which needs change, or can be viewed as virtually lost as it would to label others just midfielders/defenders, or play one formation with all players solely playing one specialised position.

The days of this player does this and only this are going even for the Keepers (distributers).

Interesting point @Magger1 I've seen it done numerous times over the years. Throw the big centre half up front because he's got a few goals...I have to say I'm not a fan. If it's the last 10 minutes and you need a goal then yep I'm all for it! However more often than not it throws your team shape right out the window and I'm not one to have a pop at Lee by any means because I do think he's doing a great job this season, but I think it shows a complete lack of belief in your midfielders and attackers to break the opposition down. A lot of the time in Championship fixtures, it takes attacking midfielders and strikers a good 60 minutes to go through the repertoire of runs, tricks and practise moves from the training ground to suss out your opponent and sometimes even tire them out to give you that extra little bit of space or opportunity to create or score goals! So putting defenders up front tends to throw a lot of the above out.

Anyone think it could be sending a message to upstairs? Get me a big guy up front as the only option I’ve got is Flint?

Can’t see LJ doing that tbh, he has been strongly backed, in many ways, and he doesn’t strike me as petulant.
