Found guilty and likely to end up in the slammer for this.  Pretty poor on his part

Former Bristol City star found guilty of £5 million football fraud

I hadn't realised that his wife had addiction issues and had taken her own life.

Awful time for all concerned, not that this explains his part in any criminal activity.

Very sad and tragic but it's not uncommon for wives/husbands/partners with addiction issues to take their own lives and the relatives eventually come to terms with it.

No excuse for criminality tho. There are dodgy characters in all works of life.

MA played for four clubs and was a Welsh international, but the report emphasises "Bristol City" when they could have printed "former footballer".

RIght Andy Llewellyn and Mark Aizlewood were in the same squad and have or are going to serve jail time. Bradley Orr, David Partridge both in the same team and jailed So who next. Our defence is a bit dodgy. Heck if Matty Bryant can shoot himself in the foot literally, then I'm glad we are moving away from all that :)

......and Steve Brooker....

Indeed at the basis of this scam took part 5-6 years ago at least.

But nationally he's seen as an ex-Cardiff player.

Anyone at the Forest away game when Aizlewood trapped the ball on our goal line and waited about 10 seconds for a Forest player to saunter in and score ? One of the strangest things I have ever witnessed on a football pitch.

Hmm, wonder what 'the odds' were on something like that happening... :ermm:   just a thought.

End of 91/92 season at Vicarage Road... 3 sent off in 3 second half minutes... Wayne Allison, Ray Atteveld, & Aizlewood.

regardless of the result at Watford City would finish seventeenth. This game was to see great controversy. Cole twice gave City the lead only for Watford to equalise then take the lead. In the 64th. minute Allison and Atteveld were both sent off. Four minutes later Aizlewood joined them with his third dismissal of the season. The eight remaining players held on, but conceded two more goals in the final three minutes for the heaviest defeat of the season 5-2.

October 1990 at Ipswich, Lumsden tried 3-4-3 and City always looked like scoring, but after 15 minutes they missed an open goal and five minutes later conceded one. In the second half goal keeper Sinclair was beaten by another shot, but Aizlewood charged through the area, leapt acrobatically and palmed the ball over the bar! Thompson hit the resultant penalty high and wide of the goal. MA was NOT sent off that day.
