Pubs Millwall

Won't work before the game (opens at 2pm) but Number 1 Sports bar off the side of London Bridge station used to be and probably still is run by a top bloke and big Gloucester rugby fan who keeps Natch in his office (which he's broken out for me before) and looks after City fans. I've not been in myself but he used to run the one on City Road that quite a few City went in before our last game at West Ham.

Plenty otherwise with Sky before and after, I assume the Belushi's will (though full of Aussie travellers) and Blue Eyed Maid down towards Borough definitely has it.

@Mr Popodopolous I have zero idea about the Millwall-ness of pubs at London Bridge - I assume largely not but perhaps @Piccolo can help. I only know the balance in New Cross and down the bottom of the Old Kent Road. Which isn't in our favour.

You may get some Millwall fans drinking around London Bridge, those coming in from Greater London or further afield and meeting friends or family also travelling in. But, they aren't any 'Millwall' pubs, as the area is full of tourists on Saturdays and the prices reflect that.

Rotherhithe, Surrey Docks, Bermondsey and New Cross are places away fans may think to drink (all close to ground & with overground / tube stations), but all are Millwall strongholds and probably not the best idea for fans of a club with Bristol City's rep and history with us to openly drink around - as it would be seen as 'asking for it' or simply taking the piss.

However, it depends what you want our out of your away day really. If there's only a couple of you and you want a nice, relaxing drink then there are good pubs in and around Surrey Docks and Rotherhite (I mentioned the quiet Angel right on the Thames at Bermondsey Wall in another thread). I don't really know the pubs around London Bridge,  other than by name - but sure some show football. I do know that London Bridge is where you want to go for the usual away day feel - as most away fans drink around here, so it will be more boisterous & you'll get a police escort. Bare that in mind if you want to avoid all that nonsense though.

There's lots of options though, as Millwall (along with Chelsea & Arsenal) are London's most central club - you could go see the Houses of Parliament, London Eye and the Globe and drink on the Southbank and walk to the ground if you really wanted to.

Like I said, depends what you want from day:

Bermondsey Beer Mile: low key fans who love their beer.

Rotherhite / Surrey Docks: very low key fans looking for drink with dockside / river views.

London Bridge: all singing, all dancing away day experience with Japanese tourist filming you singing at police; where the youngsters can feel like they've 'taken Millwall' without actually have to meet a Wall fan.

Southbank: for the culture vultures.

Fair play mate, you’ve given us some great posts, personally i’ll Be looking for as less hassle as possible so will arrive at LB as late as possible, amazingly I haven’t been to the new Den yet so a new experience for me, went to the old Den 3 times and must say it was a “proper” away day experience during the ‘70s & ‘80s, good luck for the rest of the season

London Bridge has more cameras than kodak, so very safe to drink, it is a tourist area  but also a place where many Londoners work and live and has lots of back street great pubs. The potential terrorist threat makes it a high security spot in London so if you must thump someone dont forget to say cheese.

This. Which is why you will not see a single Millwall hooligan in the area. Although you may get more Millwall pubs in those back doubles - especially going towards Tooley Street and Bermondsey Street - but not trouble ones.

It's also a good spot for the likes of Leeds to say they took Millwall - whilst guarded by the Met and then the BTP & under the watchful eye of the best CCTV technology in the world!
