THat was fantastic.

I missed Saturday, so I've looked forward to tonight's game all week. The most I've looked forward to a game for a long time and it didnt disappoint.

It's only Northampton so lets not get carried away, but this is definitely a game we'd have struggled with in the past.

Palmer looks happy, I don't think he's going anywhere based on that? Maybe he just needs to be patient and accept there will be some rotation.

A lovely headache for Dean though, this squad has some real depth. I always said it was better than performances suggested for the last year or so under LJ

I’m still lurking. Just been a bit busy with other things. Still keeping my eye on you lot though ;)

Yeah, growing a tiny human which is knackering but a lovely turn of events in my life, after being told it wouldn’t be possible :)

Yeah we had 'experts' telling us to call it a day 'you'll never have kids', after years and sobering amounts of money spent on IVF and egg donation.  Adopted a girl in January 2010, March 2010 missus up the duff (I rang the clinic that told us it was pointless to inform them they were wrong!).

Congratulations BTW, I can only speak for myself but it was a sweet moment when we found out

Any game City score 4 and keep a clean sheet is an occasion for celebration.

This is, I believe, is the strongest squad we have had in my 70 years following City

Great credit, not only to the players, but to Holden and his team.  Suspect the best pre season work was done in getting the two assistants on board.

Really like the wayHolden has gone about team selection.  It doesn’t matter if you have to bring in a player if they are of the quality of our squad and they know exactly what system they are playing

This is all so unlike City under previous Head Coach

Early days, sure,  it, although we will lose some matches I now have confidence that we won’t have those dreadful losing runs anymore

I’d like let Palmer and Seymeno take turns on my wife tonight.

Was just going to say the same re Palmer. In the past he hasn’t often lasted 90 mins.

Mrs Henry says she’d be quite content with 30 minutes’ worth! :)

Aww that’s lovely. I still don’t quite believe it to be honest, and she’s due the end of November!

That was excellent, absolutely ruthless.

Palmer, Nagy, Semenyo and Martin all played themselves into contention for Sunday and if wasnt Stoke away I would say Eliasson too.

Mawson was classy at centre back, if Kalas is injured it will be a blow as those two and either Moore or Vyner would be very strong. Sessegnon also grew into the game in the second half and will challenge Hunt.

Feels like we are going places again

Well, with the obvious caveat that it was Northampton, that's the best home performance for a very long time and suddenly it looks a, lot harder to trim the squad. We could talk about any number of players tonight but I would like to mention Kasey Palmer. I have been a long term critic of his, not because of any lack of talent, which we know he possesses in spades, but because of his work ethic and seeming lack of interest to provide the performances required. Tonight however he showed in full what he can give to the team. The trick now is if given the opportunities, either from starts or off the bench, can he replicate that week in and week out in the Championship.

Must also given a mention to Tins who introduced me to a new football term tonight when Sessegnon wazzed it across the box.

Really nice to see city play free flowing football, do I think Palmer would get this much space in the champ? no but its up to him to show Holden he can play as he did tonight in the champ for a whole game. Semenyo  had his best game in a city shirt tonight , Martin showed his experience I defiantly think these two are fighting for  Fammy's spot alongside Wells.

Mawson was quality but really hope Kala's injury isn't too serious!

These pages have been a joy to read tonight and watching the goal clips has been great.

Every player worked their socks off tonight.

Great to see a City side, go out, try stuff, play some great, attacking football and come away with a deserved win.

To quote a football cliche, Deano has been handed a selection headache for the weekend.

Glad we played well and won,but honestly Kalas injury overshadows the rest from my perspective.

TBS, I wonder if Palmer's performance could change the transfer plans...

Strangely i think a lot of it hinges on Eliasson, if he signs his contract then eitherb o'Dowda or Palmer would need to go to bring numbers down and on the strength of tonight then COD will be off

Picking the midfield for Sunday is now tricky, but given the availability of specialist midfielders I think Wemann’s place must be (should be) most at risk. Martin needs to start.

Have to agree re weimann, if him and pato both come back in after that,,, well wed better win...

we all know stoke will be tough, ive no idea now who will be in the starting 11.

Playing without shackles at last.
