SirColinOfMansfield
Wael @waelalqadi HAPPY NEW YEAR Thank you to all those suckers showing endless support in 2018, it wasn’t easy but we’re here to stay and push forward albeit with sod all investment . Hope this year brings you health, happiness and prosperity (although it is more likely to be abject failure, administration & relegation). Make 2019 work for you by continuing to believe all the bollocks the club keeps telling you! FTG!

Then after a few years useful life it got sold off and downgraded as a temporary football stand.

Nah....... At this time of the year there are reviews galore, why should we be any different? Let's look back over 2018 with a few "highlights of hilarity"...... On the pitch, Tom Nicholls continues to strike fear into ballboys and corner flags everywhere. Meanwhile it's taken those aforementioned 3 wins to just about drag them off the bottom of the table. On the positive side, they did take the mighty Barnet to a replay in the cup, so that's an improvement on previous cup campaigns. Off the pitch, well to paraphrase the old Pulp classic, there is a pie in the sky idea that there is a training ground coming "Somewhere in a field just outside Almondsbury". The Pulp song is about drugs, like the ones some of their fans must be on if they believe this guff. At the Mem we have seen the joy of, in no particular order........ New tents (sorry stands) New bus shelters (disabled area) The new porn cinema (club lounge) And a new pitch laid (twice, because they got the boys from the blackstuff to lay the first one and half the gardens in Horfield now have lovely new grass) And who could forget the genuinely heart rending story of the young girl saving up for her season ticket, as portrayed in their "promotional video"? Spoilt only by the fact that she had to wade through a ocean of recyclable rubbish to stand on her own pile of used programmes, to be able to see the pitch. Finally the fans themselves, I really can't do justice to this group in one post, but some of my favourites include. 70's style racist behaviour. Trying to persuade bemused Mancs that they are the real true fans in Bristol. Getting into rows with their own players. Believing the most obvious pieces of bullshit ever posted on any official internet site, because their owner is such a nice man he would never lie. still believing they are owned bý billionaires. And right at the end of the year they collectively audition for the part of doubting Thomas. Crying on the departure of their beloved messiah, then denying him three times after each subsequent win. Shame it's Xmas not Easter, that analogy would have worked have worked so much better. I am sure some of you have your own favourites to add from the year, but I am now looking forward to 2019 and the prospect of administration for the self proclaimed 6th richest club in the country. Your talking about the club who told a company they would pay there bill when they beat Barnet cue the bailiffs arriving in the new year

Lanterne Rouge
Fanta-gate. Crisp-gate. Letting fans in for nowt by opening a perimeter gate-gate. BTW, was anyone listening to the pre-match build up from the Kassam on Saturday? RB managed to mention twice in the first twenty minutes about `Rovers fans always travelling in huge numbers` and if that wasn`t bad enough actually referred to them as a sleeping giant! When the ugly sisters came on with City and rovers bags the eternally popular gas definately got the biggest boo and city the biggest cheer. Happy new year. Much as we loved our old home before Rovers took it and ran the place into the ground with no upkeep and investment, we're all grown up now at Bris and don't even mind the Bear bit too much as it's injected new life into the club, plus makes us globally marketable and the kids love it. When was the last time Rovers had a 26,000+ home attendance? Yesterday we had 18,500 at AG, well over double the Gas' largest attendance ALL SEASON versus Newcastle who are not a big draw, sat at the bottom of the league and brought maybe 20 fans at best... plus the unmentionables down the road had a home game at the same time which no doubt attracts a lot of floating support. In fact, when did Rovers last sell out our old ground even?... City are our welcome family who recognise what we can achieve together, no whinging at the state of the pitch either as it's actually looked after unlike when I went to watch Gas in away end earlier this year when I was shocked (actually, I wasn't) to see the pitch in an even worse state than when we were there doubling it's use! We have been shown what true co-operation and development looks like rather than fleecing, stealing and hostility. So they can try to mock the Bears all they want but really we couldn't care less; more than happy with where we are now and excited for the future. Come on you Reds/Bears! Happy New Year. 12

I think this is a really good assessment. The Bears are equal with the football club which can only be good for Bristol sport as a whole. They have better facilities, better investment and a real chance to start competing with the top teams which will not only give the Bears the success they richly deserve but also puts this great city back in the media spot light which benefits all just like last season's cup semi final did for the football club. Long term, Bristol benefits from the success of both. Sport is always evolving and improving all round and to do this it has to be fuelled by further investment. Without this investment you simply fall behind and will eventually wither and die. You only have to look no further than North Bristol to confirm that point.

Swede
I can't wait to see what the next six months has in store for the "Dustbin" thread. It brings out the whimsical best out of City fans due the amazing amount of good quality gaffs to work with, the late Bob Monkhouse would struggle to keep on top of. I will almost be sad to see that horse punching "family" club go into administration. I said almost . . .
