My memories of that day day are certainly different to yours, as regards to Bob D I remember him being chased out of Knowle after he attended a national Front meeting at a local school, he certainly had his daps on that night!!!

About 75% of the crowd was red, the Tote was invaded several times and several hundred City fans were escorted around the back of the South Stand back to the Muller Bank. Poor game though. bs3
http://gaschat.co.uk/thread/8273/fighting-bristol-rugby Who getting free tickets for the football? City ST holders will get a free ticket for the rugby at the end of the month. It is amazing how they just make things up and they all treat this as facts. Rovers fans are the Donald Trump of football.

You probably aren't old enough to remember, but (let me enlighten you). this was the proper Muller bank, BEFORE they took half of it away for speedway and supermarkets. So 10-12k in there alone, let alone everywhere else (stands especially) !

Rovers fans are the Donald Trump of football. Do they have a competition to see who can get the most inaccuracies into a single post? No one has blamed them for the fighting. Some of the rugby fans thought it was football supporters but were soon put right, it was something to do with pissed up squaddies on a stag night. probably nothing to do with either football or Rugby. Who is receiving free tickets? Maybe some community projects or possibly through players etc, nothing unusual there and probably no more than a couple of hundred tops, I imagine they give away a similar number in similar circumstances. There are very few games where the top ticket prices are as high as £42 and even then it would only be for those who were very much last minute punters, not "the most loyal". I see another of the incredible sad posts in that thread saying they wont attend a home game for the rugby anymore, how twisted and bitter can you get? How many City/Rugby fans refused to go to the Mem? Not many I would imagine. Edited September 30, 2016 by Port Said Red

That Muller Road end was absolutely rammed, I've never stood in such a packed end, we were actually stood on the dog track due to the over-crowding, who can remember the "smile, say Cheesely banner"?. I do remember running on the pitch from the Muller road end in the Gloucester cup one year as a 12 year old and being chased back but it was only me and a couple of young mates, maybe that's where our blue friend is getting confused or maybe he's just a pathological liar?

"Battle of Bristol" in the national press as I recall. Someone should be able to get hold of that. Dont want to get into an old hooligan debate because certain types will pounce on that but I was definitely in the know back then and Rovers had a very fine mob in 74/75. Fiale
Well if that's the case all he has to say is where they are getting the tickets and we will know whether it is true or not - So will MFTC care to step up and prove his statement correct...... I think they only topped 10000 a couple of times that season. On the day we went to Arsenal that August they had about 4,000 at home in opening day.

Yep, I was at the Glos cup game and did the same. Think we won on Pens , then ran on at the end (14 at the time) they came on and chased us off the pitch, virtually all kids , I managed to hurdle the fence into the enclosure. As for every other game there, never had a problem, Although it came close when they played West ham one year...... that's another story. EDIT: BTW for a matter of interest as they think this pisstake thread is obsession rather than comedy gold. I made it through the first 3 thread on their gAssHat forum before giving up. Surprise , surprise all 3 end up mentioning us... Deluded, pathological lairs , obsessed and hypocritical , sums it up I think.
