If i called it by the cup name it would be easy.

Perhaps you need to up your game bs4.

Well as it is such a clearly worded question with no confusing wording in any follow up posts of yours, I really am kicking myself that I haven’t got the answer already! ??

You could have just called it a Cup Final - just a suggestion ...

So not Mick Harford even though he did?

Danny Wilson scored in a League Cup Final

Bobby Hutchison in an FA Cup Final

Both of those were staff and not players for City though

Rich, Bobby Hutchinson was a player for us.......a good one at that. ?

Rich i see you posted bobby hutchinson scored in a fa cup final.

My wording might be bad, but i do know tommy from bobby hutchinson.

No code, i answer them.

My reps solid in the pub quiz game.

Bugger, got my bobby's and tommy's mixed up in my answer. I was referring to Tommy Hutchison, hence my saying he was staff.

Ralph Milne definitely fits the bill though, unless you add the word English to the original question

I think he meant Tommy.

He (Bobby) was a great player,  a fantastic free signing...... didn't he commute from Dundee? I seem to remember he used to use the overnight sleeper train and get a cab from TM straight [o the training ground - couldn't have been earning much then either

I had just got that, came here to post and Dave had beaten me to it!

Tbf you had several valid answers to the question previously as well

Yep - my guess of Iain Ferguson is correct and fits all the question’s criteria - he played for us in the 1990s and he scored in a ‘Top Flight Cup Final’ in 1984 - the only goal in the 1984 Scottish League Cup Final for Rangers vs Dundee United ...

Ah it’s in the wording though

”Which ex city player” and no qualification means they played for us at one point. Not that the event happened after they played for us.

If it was worded as “Which ex city player then went on…” said player would have had to play for us before the event. The lack of the qualification allows for players to play for us after the event.

Yes, I’m pedantic…

“Which ex scored in a top flight cup final in the 80s.”  Is the question.  That unequivocally means a player that had already played and left City IMO..
