Thats what it seems like to me. I did get the correct answer to the Clayton Blackmore question - it was Iain Ferguson - he ticked all the boxes for all the criteria laid out in your question ... Of course podcasts wrent around then, i listened to it last year. Ian botham did have 5 pints, and he was on the pitch in his role at Scunthorpe. I mean if you actually did some homework, you would see someone got injured in the prematch. Incidently phil played for Scunthorpe and lincoln in the late 80s, Both were in div 4. Im having a nightmare? Your post said Botham “had someone bringing pints onto the pitch for him” when he played for Scunny - I just expressed incredulity that a pro footballer would have done that, I don’t believe his manager, team mates or the referee would have put up with that

Im having a nightmare? You’re incorrect - eg Phil Neale played in the match Lincoln 8 Northampton 0 in 1980 - not sure that qualifies as ‘late 80s’

Thats the game john sitton played against botham, when this happened. Reports, pictures online. I wouldnt question johns integrity btw. I googled it mate - nothing came up whatsoever - no “reports” and no “pictures” online regarding John Sitton talking about Ian Botham drinking pints of beer on the pitch during a game in which he was playing as a professional footballer - as I said, his manager, team mates, the referee and the fans just wouldn’t have put up with it - if you have reports and pictures then I’d be happy to acknowledge this and apologise ... He could have scored 10 own goals and he still would have been clapped off after what he did the previous year. We wont see another botham performance of 82. Or 81 either!

I don't think @BS4 on Tour..., or any body else for that matter, is saying you are 'thick'; at least, I should hope not. Rather, I think, much in the way of the late Frank Carson, 'It's the way you tell 'em' Whatever, Please don't feel you need to give up with the quizzes. For what it's worth, I was going to guess that the cup final scorer was Luke Wilkshire, but didn't get around to replying - luckily . 1
Oh Louie louie
Thanks for the kind words phil. Johns done about 11 podcasts, i will find it and be back to prove this. Stand on me on that. I mean if you think im spoofing. you can ask him on twitter about the time he played against botham. He will reply. Oh Louie louie
This is ian botham we are talking about. Not bruce haliday or forbes masters. He told Scunthorpe when he fancied a game, not the other way around. And by jove he earnt his right to drink those 5 pints on the pitch. The ref would have been chuffed he was playing, and would have wanted a momento i expect. Nobody tells beefy what to do,
