I think he meant Tommy.

He (Bobby) was a great player,  a fantastic free signing...... didn't he commute from Dundee? I seem to remember he used to use the overnight sleeper train and get a cab from TM straight [o the training ground - couldn't have been earning much then either

Well at one time he was living in a flat above a shop on Bedminster Road, just down from Parson Street School, possibly with another City player.

The dark destroyer on the chase never gets a question wrong, when it comes to football.

He would have got the link with those clues....

Who was the professional cricket player, who played for the oppostion mid 80s at the gate.

I saw him once, he may have played more than that.

He was not a somerset player.

Statistically, The Dark Destroyer is the worst chaser of all episodes in 2021.  Mark Labatt - The Beast , was the best.

Close big c.

Alan walsh scored a thirty yard free kick past this bloke.

Was one of the best ive seen.

Was disallowed for being indirect.

Lincoln?

Incidentally, Mark Labett is called the beast not because he’s a big imposing bastard, but due to the French translation of his name.

Damn Enlightning this thread!

Who played in a World Cup, both cricket and football? Allegedly Sir IVA Richards played in a football WC Qualifier for Antingua, and of course cricket WC for West Indies.

@BS4 on Tour... any idea if this is actually true?

Don’t know if true but with Viv it would be no surprise! Still the best (cricketer) I’ve ever seen.

Apparently he played in football World Cup qualifying matches for both Antigua and Barbuda in the run up to the 1974 World Cup so you could be onto something there!

Are you sure Phil Neale isn’t a correct answer? He played for Lincoln City and Scunthorpe in the 1980s and we played both those clubs a fair few times in that era ... after the ‘Weston super’ you’ve had on the rest of this thread I reckon Phil Neale is a good shout ...

Botham, had at least 5 pints, before he played for scunny once.

He even had somebody bringing them out on the pitch for him.

The bloke on the podcast said he thought he was there doing pr.

Next thing you know, he said, hes in the tunnel running out!

Yeh right - a pro footballer drank pints on the pitch during a game?! Podcasts weren’t around when Botham played football - but Botham drinking pints on the pitch during a game is just ridiculous...

Bs4 your saying im thick but by god some of your answers here, good grief.

Of course podcasts wrent around then, i listened to it last year.

Ian botham did have 5 pints, and he was on the pitch in his role at Scunthorpe.

I mean if you actually did some homework, you would see someone got injured in the prematch.

Incidently phil played for Scunthorpe and lincoln in the late 80s,

Both were in div 4.

Im having a nightmare?

Scunthorpe vs gillingham 1983.

Thats the game john sitton played against botham, when this happened.

Reports, pictures online.

I wouldnt question johns integrity btw.

So if neale played that would have been 2 pro crickerters that season.

We live and learn, mr c accepted i was talking about a goalie, but im in two minds about doing anymore quizs tbh.
