Preston North End at home match thread

Recommended Posts

That was so much better, we dominant a very disciplined Preston side and gave nothing from open play, everyone of our players looked up for it tonight, they all worked hard and we looked good, fair play to the management for turning the players around after the weekend,

On another note that set a new standard tonight for the worst display from a ref I have ever seen at the gate, how is he still a league ref

Stroud didn't start too badly, and over time he started to become Keith Stroud. Getting in the way of attacks, calling fouls where there weren't any, not giving them when there were.

Then 7 minutes added time (although to be fair, it could have been that much because there were a lot of stoppages.)

Who cares, we did it!

Well done to all... Now tame the Lions.

Overall a decent display. Good effort levels. Final third was poor. Defensively sound. Bit open in midfield at times but Preston not good enough to punish us

Bit harsh on Jay

Fair scores I’d say. Maybe Max a 7

Great football night for me: Inter almost won at Camp Nou, and three points for the mighty Robins. ?  ?

From what I saw, in the first half we showed good attitude, more ball possession and clever defending but our decision making/accuracy in attacking areas was awful...whereas in the second half we were better in attack, especially after the first goal, and Preston's goal was quite lucky.

Good to see some changes in the starting XI and a positive impact by some players (Klose in particular).

No post match  interview from NP yet! ?

Summary

satisfied with outcome

players responded, good commitment

got to see what happens now, can’t be an up and down side. Looking forward to see if can get back to back wins

players coming in staked a claim

pleased for Atkinson who needed a response after recent games. Not been at his best.  Played well

Can’t expect strikers to always come up with the goods.
Good front foot football. That’s what we want.

Defended with commitment. Good organisation

Semenyo still trying to find the flow but also his shooting boots again, we all know he’s a confidence player, xx very well all the same, just needs a goal, nice to try him with Conway which TC didn’t do bad but wasn’t great, but 3 points COYR

That ref was a right bell end, i knew he would go over the actual 7 mins of stoppage time, the yellow cards were inconsistent

Considering there was an injury on 90 minutes, and then the game didn't restart for another couple of minutes, the 7 minutes only began from the restart!

Much better performance tonight and we deserve the much needed win. It was clear from the outset that the players were trying to pass more quickly. We struggled to create much in the first half, but in the scone half we had more chances.

Klose, Semenyo and Scott were our best performers. O’Leary looked assured too.

It was disappointing to concede from another set piece, but their delivery from the free kick looked very good.

And who’d have thought that our goals would come from crosses.
