Can’t believe the crowd and commentators giving Ronaldo all the plaudits because he smiled when his team scored and tried hard when he came on.

sort of thing I did for my kids when they were toddlers!

Well he does act like one!

Portugal denying rumours that he threatened to leave the squad when he was dropped the other night.

This whole thing has backfired on him spectacularly. For the first time in his career his mouth is writing cheques that his body can’t cash. Sure, he’s going to go to Saudi and earn fortunes, but he'll have likely thought he would have still been able to get a deal at one of the top European clubs, and such is his ego that the personal wealth is a distant second to how he’s perceived. And unfortunately for him, he’s starting to become a laughing stock. He needs to wind his neck in, accept that age is catching up with him and bow out gracefully, or else he’s going to find he has very few friends left when the limelight has faded.

I know a lot of us like to laugh at Man U, but he was (is?) a legend there. He was earning a fortune, playing in front of a crowd that adored him. What better way to finish your career? Help the young lads come through, maybe do coaching. But no - his ego wouldnt accept him not playing every week. He will regret it, when he is kicking a football around a dustbowl in Saudi. Silly sod

IF (and it’s a big if); Portugal were to win the World Cup on Dec 18th, and he was not playing, what chance of him doing “a John Terry” to lift the trophy ?

I would be surprised if it didn’t happen

To be fair, he would be supposed to be in full kit as he would be an actual sub.

He didn't have the decency to shake hands on the pitch with the Moroccan players. And walked off crying. Big man? No, a spoiled brat!

By doing that he ensured the cameras followed him down the tunnel to the dressing room, thus ensuring the focus went back to Ronaldo and not on the celebrating Moroccan players.

Maybe he could team up with Prince Andrew for a few rounds of golf?

Exactly the reason why he done it, no dignity or sportsmanship, all attention seeking to boost his profile one last time before he hopefully disappears off the radar and back to work as a waiter in his restaurant in Madeira.
