Med/MadHatter
If this song gets played again, it would be great if someone could record it and send it to The Dreadnoughts, they said they felt honoured that it had been played at Ashton Gate and would love to see it
DevonGeneral
Always thought this would be a good song pre-match! Check the theme of the album and it becomes obvious that it's Bristol. Didn't they play at a festival near Bristol earlier this year? Cider Holiday is another good song of theirs. Edited October 30, 2022 by DevonGeneral To add the festival
Red Skin
Cracking song, but I wish they'd just let the fans sing for last 15min before ko so the atmosphere builds.

WessexPest
Someone brought this to my attention a few months back - like it. Play this and Virtute et Industrial before the game: “Now we be Bristaw kiddayz, we comes vrom Bristaw Citay…”

In a way this thread sums up OTIB. The Dreadnoughts are a well known band to some on the forum but, equally, completely unknown to, possibly, the majority City fans. Now suddenly it’s the song to play before every match! It’s a Canadian band with a reference to Cider thrown in. No more, no less

Bristol is a principality in Canada - near to Quebec I think. It’s a high tempo song with interesting lyrics tho - sort of song that could be playing in the dressing room when players are warming up. It was really, really, really hard. For example, we started developing this great song about Bristol and how much we love drinking real English west country cider, and quickly realized that it couldn’t possibly go on the album. But, undaunted, we decided to integrate those themes with the war. The result is “Back Home in Bristol,” a song about a soldier about to be executed for cowardice, thinking of his home in the west country and wishing he was there just once more. 1

Of course they do. A high tempo tune like “Back home in Bristol” would be ideal to enthuse the players - back in the days of Buster Footman the players warmed up to classics like “ Roll out the Barrel”…………..

You are correct RR...most teams have music playing in the changing rooms to get them fired up...even at amateur level. Stoke tweeted a while back about the Welsh music coming out of Swansea's dressing room and taking the piss

Port Said Red
It must have been an interesting moment when they discovered that Cider here is alcoholic, they probably had the opposite reaction to me when I found that Cider is what Canadians call unfermented apple juice with the pulp still in it.
