Bellingham’s price is upping by the minute

As a grounded , intelligent lad that he clearly is , with that talent and athletic ability ,  what a future he has

Saka / Foden / Bellingham for years to come , we have the beginnings of a decent , competitive team for a decade or so

He was absolutely robbed of the Kopa trophy. Head and shoulders above the rest on the list. Spanish league bias as always.

Looking back at the goals , ...best of the three  ?

Tough call

shaws brilliant cross , Bellingham’s brilliant header

Maguires knock down for Sakas brilliant volley

Or the press, and break , with Kane’s brilliant delivery and Sterling’s outside foot finish

Think I edge Sterling’s but all top goals

Lovely first half performance.

You fear a bit when Iran waste time every time the whistle goes and get away with a couple of heavy challenges…and then no penalty, Maguire off the bar.

But we played some good, decent tempo passing, and kept doing it.  The number of times we went from the opposite CB to FB without the pass in the middle meant we got into good positions high up the pitch without Iran having 10 behind the ball.  That was key.  Good rotation from the three behind Kane (justifying selection), and willingness to play first time.

Bellingham (who I’m loving btw) has been excellent, but so has Rice.  That is “the” midfield two that can take us further in this tournament.

Just nothing stupid now.  No issues if we just pass for passing’s sake second half…job is done.

I like the 4231. With the right players it's a nice versatile formation.
