Weather here looks fine during your stay so perfect for a walk round the Harbourside.

If you're staying centrally do a circular walk starting and finishing at the Horned Bridge, about an hour or so with no stops.

Plenty of places to eat and drink on the way depending on your taste, but the Nova Scotia is a great old pub with really good value food and the Grain Barge top deck a very pleasant area to sit outside on a fine day, as is The Cottage Inn.

Another good walk if you're feeling reasonably energetic is to go up the wooded Zig Zag path (a favourite of Queen Victoria when staying in Clifton as a child) from the bottom of Bridge Valley Road for a good sight of the Bridge from many angles and then plenty of places to eat and drink in Clifton Village, including the Coronation Tap, a famous old cider pub.

Then walk down the Promenade, cross the top of Bridge Valley, and on to the Downs to take in the view from Sea Walls.

I’d certainly recommend a walk around the Harbourside @CanaryCouple like Nogbad has suggested. It’s lovely down there on a fair day.

Enjoy your weekend??

You should be easy to spot , with the amount of pubs you have been told to visit we will see you crawling across the park at 2 mins to three singing sweet chariots ( well slurring ?)

Or stumbling past the Three Lions belting out `On The Ball City` and shouting out `Let`s be having you` at the clientele in best Delia fashion.

Hi folks, just wanted to say we're having a fantastic time already. Currently sat in Left Handed Giant having a quiet afternoon ale or two.

Fantastic city, really friendly locals and plenty of fine establishments. Walked round St Nicholas Market earlier, and had a gert lush brunch at The Crafty Egg.

In the morning we're going to do M Shed, then walk up to the Suspension Bridge and down towards the ground. Going to meet a large contingent of Irish Canaries at Bedminster Cricket Club pre-game, then watch the rugby in the sports bar at the ground afterwards, before heading to Bristol Beer Factory for a few ales.

Thanks again to you all for your great suggestions and recommendations, and fingers crossed for an entertaining match tomorrow. Looking forward to seeing whether Alex Scott lives up to the hype!
