He was only an advisor at Wycombe for under a year.

Around 6 months I believe , ONeil's had been with Wycombe for 7 years.
He may have mentioned their name, but at the time we were desperate for someone to come and do a kit at short notice.

I did back along... deal would have been done before he started.. but.... theres no way when Alexander initially started meeting with JL and co he didn't suggest O'Neills when JL mentioned that they needed someone else after Hummel's supplier were causing issues. To big a coincidence not to have happened.. Literally no other teams in the football league use them and we have a new CEO who worked with them for years.

Absolute nonsense and false. The Chairman made the decision well before the CEO arrived. Any regular business would have gone through a tender process.

All I'm saying is.. It was common knowledge that Richard Gould was off to the ECB long before it was officially announced.. meaning we would have been sounding out new CEO's for a while before he left.

Watching the video put in the thread previously regarding Elite sports group (Spencer FC and Hash Tag Utd), this process would have aligned with the time we would have been undergoing finding and appointing a new CEO.

My point is... Is it not a possibility that while these issues were happening with E.S.G and we were searching for a new CEO, this issue would have been brought up in conversation? To me there just seems to be a lot of coincidences for this not to be a possibility.

You are correct.. this could be 'absolute nonsense and false' I was just making a suggestion... but like the last time I mentioned this, does anyone have anything else to disprove my theory other than shutting it down with a one liner with nothing to back it up.

(If so I will happily shut up about it hahah)

It's your theory, it's for you to prove, not for others to disprove.

All you have at the moment is some conjecture and what is barely a coincidence.

How many years did Crystal Palace use O'Neils ?

Any serious CEO, faced with a change of kit supplier, would have gone through a tender process to determine the most appropriate supplier. Alexander arrived well after the decision was taken. You are talking total nonsense without any foundation or fact. You have no theory, it is not aligned with reality and is pure fiction. The Chairman decided on the supplier.  Ask him.

A tender process taking place under slightly different and un-ideal circumstances though don't you think? .. a company going into administration forcing us to change suppliers and kit mid season.. not something I've seen before.

Also, my theory is not that PA was behind the decision to go with the new supplier ... my theory is that he could have mentioned the brand O'Neills to JL and co and things developed outside of this from there.

'The Chairman decided on the supplier.' ...  I agree and have agreed the whole time on the final decision making and who had the authority on this. That is not my point.

Also had no idea you and Jon were mates... can you shoot me his number??  I'll give him a call :)

I think the point Psychopomp is making is that the decision making process happened before PA was involved in any way here, ie pre being head-hunted.

I think all of this is the result of having a chairman that has put himself in charge of kits for the last few years moving halfway around the world and essentially no longer giving a shit.

Yes, and simply using his involvement with the club as an outlet for his hobbies, rather than attempting to act in the best interests of the fans and club.

Like most things in life, there will always be a club with a worse kit

I dont normally hate on other clubs kits.  Obviously they dont mean much to me and I have no idea as to the relevance of some of the elements.

So I just take it on face value.

That is GOD AWFUL

I was scrolling down, saw the sponsor and the first map of Reading was appalled.  Its way too busy.

Then scrolled down and saw the second row of (I presume) Reading icons

Then more buildings on the sleeve.

I used to work in Reading ... boring dull souless place

It would be better if they were sponsored by A-Z (yes Im that old)

It is mad how everyone bar those in charge can see the issues.

Why don’t they consult with a select few prior to putting it out? The supporters club coupled with some younger fans maybe.

This is the worst it’s been for a while, it’s rare you see almost everyone in agreement regarding them.

On the home kit, the collar is terrible as many have already said, but does anyone else think that both the O’Neills logo, and the City badge should both be moved inwards a bit, they’re both to the side of the white lines but should be in the middle of where the lines run through.

That third kit with that badge is absolutely shocking, should’ve never been allowed to get past the design stage.

As incompetent as the club seemingly are in this department i would be shocked if the grumblings on here and all over social media haven’t gone unnoticed..

Once again the club have only got themselves to blame though. It’s a shame as we seem to be doing just about everything else correctly.

It does baffle me though..How hard is it to get a proper kit supplier sorted and keep the fans in consultation with any changes to the badge? It’s not rocket science is it..
