They wasted time for most of the second half without any attempt to stop them & why that gas *** Lockyer was twice allowed to play the man not the ball to allow it to go out of play I have no idea. Much better second half, hopefully Tanner will be well enough to start & James will be back. 3 2 Quote Link to comment
ciderwithtommy
Scary how naive we are. One if the reasons we went 500 games without a pen, we make the refs life so easy. There two in CM must’ve committed 5+ fouls each, including one of them jumping on max, and we don’t seem to know how to get yeh ref to help us. Got to say I really think Luton are a vile side, nothing fairytale about them. Tight pitch, aggressive, play acting, it’s just frustrating we can’t square up to that and win. 1 Quote Link to comment

Much better energy, quicker with the ball, urgency to win it back etc. Not really. 1 Quote Link to comment

The only plus for City fans tonight is that they can leave that slum of a town behind them whereas Luton supporters have to wake up there again in the morning. Dan Robin
Losing by one goal away to a high-flying team is OK. Good effort from Nigel & the players, considering all the problems we are having. Edited March 15, 2023 by Dan Robin 1 Quote Link to comment
Jerseybean
Immediate thoughts….. Despite Luton’s first half dominance it was our sloppy defending that decided the game. We at least showed some character in the second half, although never looked like scoring. Scotty (who avoided a booking) and Max emerge with credit. Feel for the traveling fans who endured a poor City performance in awful weather. The better side won and could easily have done so by a more comfortable margin. 1 Quote Link to comment

Credit Luton, nothing fancy but they totally disrupt your play with their high work rate and intensity. On to Sunday. And all their cheating. How is a "shoulder" charge in the back on Sam Bell not a foul? 1 Quote Link to comment

Major Isewater
Well with so many injuries and a small squad we did well to keep fighting until the end. One nil is not a bad result all things considered. There were too many below par performances from the boys in the first half but they kept plugging away and were only a goal away from getting something out of the game. A night to forget and we move on. 2 Quote Link to comment

ralphindevon
We showed a decent attitude in that second half. After they scored so early It looked like our weakened team could well take a good beating but in the end we could have nicked a draw. Not a brilliant night but I’ve seen many worse in recent years. 3 Quote Link to comment
bexhill reds
Perhaps not the best thread to post this on, but as a proud owner of a yellow Hirerite 90’s away shirt, I don’t like this one. Happy never to see this kit again Quote Link to comment

Not sure we’ve been given a tougher game by anyone this season (just for balance rather than it being all about us being poor). They're a pain in the arse to play against, especially the 2 up front. Very effective at what they do. Quote Link to comment

Ivorguy
I think we showed spirit in second half and as game went on we got stronger. Sad not to get a point for effort, but a bridge too far with so many injuries and players playing out of position. Hopefully we will have Tanner back on Saturday and Sykes can revert to his normal role. Weimann also looked slightly wasted tonight, but understand NP had little choice. Hopefully we will have larger, stronger squad over next 4 transfer windows 5 Quote Link to comment
Open End Numb Legs
Haven't read the rest of the thread and don't want to sound like a sore loser but how do Luton fans watch that pile of crap all season? The conditions were bad but they were just a very physical team that will get carded out of games if they ever got promoted. Better referees won't stand for that. On a night when we needed our biggest defenders we didn't have them. 2 1 Quote Link to comment

Northern Red
What's frustrating is that, for all that Luton dominated for long periods, the goal we conceded was down to our own defensive carelessness. 5 Quote Link to comment
