SPAZZA
We (Leeds) have slight interest in him. £25m smacks of a Chairman fed up of bankrolling the club, can’t blame him but no one is paying North of £20m and even that is too much, £12-15m is realistic imo.
petehinton
Also worth mentioning Percy was the first person to break Pearson taking over from Holden, and also him getting a 3 year deal IIRC

Shuffle
We have a threadbare squad and if Scott for £20m is a sacrifice to bring 3-4 players in then do the deal. Don’t want to see him leave but he will go in the summer but we need new players now.

I honestly can’t imagine we’d sell for anything less than £20m…and that £20m will have several clauses on top too. That might mean we’ve priced him out if the market, but there’s so much interest in him from so many PL clubs that someone will do it to get him. Maybe not this window, but summer otherwise. That’s my genuine thoughts on this. Normally I’d say that is too much, but he’s a bigger prospect than Lloyd Kelly for example. 2 minutes ago, petehinton said: Also worth mentioning Percy was the first person to break Pearson taking over from Holden, and also him getting a 3 year deal IIRC He’s a proper journo.

AshtonRobin21
Think he goes before the end of the window. £25m is great money for the championship. Any deal HAS to include a bonus for playing for England. I think he goes for in the region of 18-20m plus someone like Chem Campbell on loan. The rumours of wanting an attacking midfielder this window start to make more sense.

Percy is good & this seems far more credible than the £12m stuff.

Mr Popodopolous
I am happy about this, has assuaged my concerns somewhat that we might be under some kind of orders to raise January transfer revenue and fix the shortfall like Birmingham in 2019. That is in part a "Hands off" message as I don't see anyone paying £25m yet.

The key thing is he is on a long contract, the club don’t want to sell him and (so far) he has given no indication he is in a hurry to leave. “Realistic” or not, there is no reason why we need to do any other club a favour by selling a player we want to keep unless a club is prepared to make it worth our while to do so. If Leeds, Wolves or whoever else don’t want to pay £25m or make an offer in that region, they are in no way compelled to do so. Those clubs keep their money, we keep a player we want and everyone’s happy. But, if a club wants to get a player who we have under contract and want to keep, then of course they are going to have to pay a premium to do so.
AshtonRobin21
I find the “drop your price tag, or we move on” threat hilarious. Off you go then! Our financial situation might not be very good at all, but Scott has so much interest from Prem clubs, one team will pay the asking price. We hold the cards here.

Difficult to gauge the chairman comments. Might also be a ‘go away’ price. Others will disagree, but gut feel £16m-£18m. As for those saying ‘£25m, go for it’, worth repeating the journo is saying they are not interesting in biting at that. Either way would rather it does not happen, but if it does, quickly is the next best option.
deadredfred
Credible source and ideally the start of a bidding war for the clubs that are genuinely interested. Next few days could get very interesting. He’s going to go at some point, and whilst I’d rather we held onto him for another season at least, an offer in that region mentioned is unlikely to be turned down, and would hopefully give Nige the funds needed to fix our weaker areas and see to general finances too

One Team
Anything more than £15m in the current market is good I would think, £25m would be outstanding.

Shuffle
As I said earlier, personally I’d take £20m but for every Wolves fan saying that is over the top, I’ll remind them that in the summer they sold Gibbs White for £25m plus a further £17m in add ons Edited January 10, 2023 by Shuffle 4

Davefevs
In fairness @SPAZZAis a decent poster (even for a Dirty Leeds fan) on here, so let’s cut him a bit of slack. But when the likes of Keane Lewis-Potter went for circa £18m in the summer, a year older, without the youth pedigree of Scott, you can see why Scott is being mentioned in the £20m+ bracket.
