Reading at home match thread

Heard Leeson was in the 19 last night from a poster on here.  Guessing a toss up between him and Francois (who was on the bus - not that bus!!) for the last sub shirt.

Technically decent, can play LB too.

Although if Scott was in then one of the others (prob Leeson) would miss out keeping it at 9

Yeah, fair point

21,000 tickets sold for this game now. I don’t quite understand how or why given we’ve got nothing to play for, sat in midtable, in fairly poor form, with long injury list - and unremarkable opposition!

Genuinely quite puzzled by it ?‍♂️

Lot of local amateur games called off has probably boosted the numbers a bit.

Well done Harry Leeson, another lad getting match day experience, suggests that Wilson is seen as a more attacking right sides option if needed.

Another full-back also means that we could move Dasilva further up, with Tanner either going to LB (with Wilson/Leeson to RB) or CB (with Pring going to LB).

The other lot were big lumps, weren't they? Unlike our lot. The deluded Lam thinks you can win games with a bunch of lightweights up front. Genge got dumped like a rag doll at one point. Should have been a red card but the clueless ref is probably still running scared from his 6Nations blunder.

Anyway wrong thread. COYR!

They were physical and direct and had the best player on the pitch by a hundred miles in Penaud.  I thought it was Sinkler who got speared?  Genge got clattered but he was way off his normal standard. Both very early in the game - clearly not accidental.

Still think we'd have won if we had one of Joyce or Batley playing and only lost due to the 7 points Naulago literally gifted them with 10 minutes left.

Big opportunity for Zak to show how much he’s improved. A big challenge for him today.

Zak (and Cam) will be helped massively if the delivery is pressured.  If we allow Reading players to get their head up and pick out Carroll's target area, it'll be hard to contain him.  Meite is a bustling striker in the Semenyo mould, so he will give us issues too.  Incidentally, he's twice done his hamstring at AG in the past.

I know they played rugby at AG last night, but the pitch is looking somewhat cut up.

I get the 22 yard lines, but what are the crosses and worn patches across the middle third? Looks like somebody has left a load of containers on it overnight.

A shame, as normally our pitch is one of the best in the division.
