I dunno noggers that mob from horfield are very inventive when it comes to comedy

We were guffawing at Rovers in the 70's BI, but, unlike TV comedies, the laughs have never stopped coming and if anything they are even more hilarious today.

Porridge, The fall and rise of Reginald Perrin, The Goodies, Open all Hours…

It's difficult to judge how things will date. Porridge. Is absolutely timeless and I recently watched Whatever Happened to the Likely Lads which, while having some sexist moments, has actually aged well. The Goodies, not so.

I listen to Radio 4 extra and the Goon Show and the Marx Brothers stuff is almost unlistenable for me, Round the Horne and Hancock's Half Hour still sound great. I love the Kenneth Williams stuff in Round the Horne especially "Julian and my friend Sandy", talking in "Polari". Considering they are clearly a gay couple in the 1960's it's great how we laugh with them, not at them

Hard to choose between Beadle’s About and You’ve Been Framed. Both absolute classics.

We're talking crème de la crème.

Obviously both too young to remember the mother of those programmes, the original Candid Camera.

Yeah, certain ones stand the test of times….straying into the 80s, the Young Ones, which was epic at the time, is a bit crap if you watch it now (imho).

Reggie Perrin stuff - genius, still is now.

The Goodies - my bruv and my cousin loved it, I thought it was crap.

Porridge - genius too.

Oooh Mr 'Orne.

Bona.

People forget that The Goodies were in terms of book sales far more popular than Python. 'Kids Programme.'

We still listen to I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue. This is a show that keeps up with modern day humour. I listened recently to one of the very first episodes from the 70s. Wow! That was dated humour wise. Very slow paced. No doubt Mrs Trellis will have something to say about it.
