I like Wiemann, but I can't see how anyone can say he had a good game yesterday. His passing was poor and it was made to look even worse by the fact we were in dangerous positions and we could have had more chances had he been more composed. Could say the same about Tanner and Dasilva's crossing too - awful. If we can get better at all that, I think we'll be a force. Completely fair & I agree. There is a marked contrast between this appraisal though & others who refuse to accept he’s done any good things of late & are just going to repeat “not good enough” ad nauseam even when examples are provided.

That’s the nature of any football forum Graham. They’re always those who can’t see the wood for the trees and are resistant to hard evidence that’s contrary to their often one eyed view………….

Playing him wide im seeing his crosses going from the lansdown to the Dolman stand ?

Change doesn’t happen overnight when you start the season bollocksed financially. You can’t send a whole team of young ‘un’s out to compete in our league either. They would get beat up, simple as that.

This isn't meant as a dig at Lee Johnson or Dean Holden but I think either would have emphasised the positives and been satisfied with the performance. Pearson is setting very clear standards. As you say, I've no doubt he's said the same to the players and it is consistent with the approach he has taken since he became manager. I doubt the players are particularly surprised or alarmed by it. Completely agree. He did not name anyone in his interview other than the general statement regarding substitutes but that of course narrows it done significantly. I think we are now seeing a fit and well Nige putting his markers down and I think , as a club, we will significantly benefit from that. I get the impression but I am not ITK, that the players like and believe in him but, there is a small element of fear too. That is no bad thing in a dressing room.
cityexile
The other side of what he said is that older players like James and King are still showing total commitment, and are most likely being played for more minutes than he would wish. Both were good yesterday, again, and are giving it their all.
